Yes it does offer a free U.S number and in any U.S city of your choice. I've always used Email to signup.

It's probably a re-assigned number. If you don't renew your Dingtone number, it will be available for another person to get.

Yeah. I now understand it. But the weird thing is I was getting new messages from contacts on my WhatsApp and mostly from ladies and kept saying I love you and other stuffs.

No i didn't, maybe because i don't live in Naija. Some people complained that the App is not available in Nigerian App/Play store, maybe you should try using VPN to register one.

No subscription fee, you only buy call credits when calling countries outside U.S and Canada. Even at that, the call credit is rediculously cheap
