The Emir of Daura, His Royal Highness Alh. Umar Faruk OON has expressed satisfaction over the cordial relationship between Governor M. A. Abubakar and their son, President Muhammadu Buhari adding that he is aware of the kind of support His Excellency the Governor, has been given to the President for the past 16 years.

The Emir made these comments when Governor Abubakar paid homage to him at his palace in Daura, shortly after attending the wedding Fatiha of the president's daughter Hajiya Fatima Muhammadu Buhari. He also used the opportunity in congratulating the good people of Bauchi State for having a great leader like Governor Abubakar. The Emir described the Governor as a down-to-earth, humble, pragmatic and visionary leader worthy of emulation. The Emir expressed his full support for the government of Bauchi State under the exemplary leadership of His Excellency, Governor Abubakar.

The Emir pointed out that Bauchi State had several Governors before the coming of Governor M. A. Abubakar but none of them can be compared to him in terms of transparency, zero tolerance for corruption, and people oriented policies.

The Royal Father also added that the relationship between Daura and Bauchi have always been cordial and prayed that it will get even better.

Furthermore, the Emir called on the people of Nigeria to be patient with the current administration of both the states and federal government and pray harder for the success of government across board. He stated that destruction is always easy, but building a strong nation free from corruption takes time. He also added that no meaningful development can be achieved without a vibrant economy and it is clear that the economy is not favorable at the moment, but expressed confidence that things will be better soon.

His Royal Highness also called on all traditional rulers to exert more effort in sensitizing their people about the real state of affairs of the country. He explained that the recession we are witnessing in our nation today is not peculiar to Nigeria alone.

Responding, Governor Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar thanked the Emir for the warm reception he and his entourage received. He also thanked him for the words of encouragement and support.

Governor Abubakar was in Daura for the Wedding Fatiha of the President's daughter Hajiya Fatima Muhammadu Buhari and also the Wedding Fatiha of the Emir of Daura's daughter to the son of Mai Borno.
