Hi ladies,

Please how long does it take to process the US passport after delivery. With my first child it took about 4 weeks but that was 4 years ago. Currently my new place of work only gives me 40 days maternity leave so I have to return when baby is 2 weeks and for sure I don't want to leave without the passport. Thanks

To get it same day expedited go to a city that has Passport Agency and also issue BC few days after birth e.g. Houston

Just try and do the road trip if you can.
So that you won't loose your visa fee because at this stage you can not reschedule.

Ada87, use your maiden name, give the child is father's surname and exclude the father's name from the BC. Nobody cares if you are married or single over there. If you add the father's name, you will need his consent to process the passport. Good luck with your decisions.

Ok dear. He agreed to transfer the cash but thay will be in January but the problem is hope they won't say why the bulk transfer of cash. Paid the visa fee already. Will soon fill out the online form. Expecting interview by March. So my worry is hope they won't question the bulk transfer. Thank you

Instead of Night bus,she should forget her visa money and pay another one, then book for another appointment because its better be late than the Late. Its just too risky to travel by road at night to North these days and the road is very far. Life is precious,She can always replace the money she lost but cant replace her life if she lose it. Goodluck to her.

@ada87
I will advice u give the child ur surname if u will have anything to do with Nigeria embassy in the USA.
I had a similar experience in uk while schoolling although not married in anyway to the guy, during my pregnancy our relationship went sour but after given birth I gave the baby his surname (after been advised by family members) ,although I didn't include his name in the bc because he wasn't really ready to support in anyway.
Everything was fine till I decided to get her a Nigerian passport. At Nigerian embassy in London was asked whose surname my child bears and I said the father. I was asked to get the consent letter from him which he won't give me.
I was made to understand that in Nigeria the father of the child owns the child but in UK its the mother that owns the child.
To cut the long story short , had to go to court to swear affidavit that am solely responsible for the child and then changed the surname to mine. It was emotionally and physically stressful. And due to timing I had to get her emergency travel document to travel to Nigeria. But with the sworn affidavit and change of name I applied for Nigerian passport as a single parent and even all other visa applications too.

Pls personal advice use ur surname , expect u are sure u can get consent letter and maybe bio data page of his passprt if needed from him . if everything goes well between the both of you , u can always change the child's surname to his.

Good luck and God bless.

My good people, I have finally moved from my friends place to my sil's . My sil's husband heard my conversation with his wife and was very upset and asked me to pack my things that he will come and pick me immediately after work. I told my host that I was going for holiday, she was like I have told them I am not comfortable so they said they will come and pick me that I should tell her before the end of that day if I am coming back cos if she takes me of her schedule it will be difficult to put me back. Imagine. I left her hanging and later told her after a week I wasn't coming back. I have been sleeping and eat well even go out to see places unlike when I was with her.
From my new place to the hospital and Dr's is 45mins ( 38-50dollars with uber) but metro goes there and it's about 2hrs:42mins (2dollars with the Q card )I did it yesterday it was tiring but cost saving and a form of site seeing for me. I saw the fellow at the Dr's office with someone and she was acting all nice and lovely. I thank everyone that gave me one advice or the other and for those that prayed for. God bless u all
I had a sad christmas lost my mil on the 24th she didn't wait to see her precious sons child. So sad God knows best.

Hi all, so I flew british Airways on the 24th of December to Elpaso through dallas. I made it a point to come and give back as I didn't last year. Got carried away and overwhelmed with motherhood then when I came in June to have my baby girl. Journey then was also to Elpaso with klm through dallas.
So, I got to dallas on Christmas day, used the automated check in counter and declared dairy product cause I had peak 123. Went to the cbp officer and he asked what I was here for. Told him vacation and childbirth. Asked how much I had, told him. Next he scribbles something on my paper and tells me I will explain in details to the officer he will be passing me on to. I travelled with my 18 month old by the way. Was first of all directed to agriculture, they scanned my bags n let me go without searching it. Then directed me to another officer who asked y I was sent to him. The agricultural guy was like, he guesses the officer felt I needed a little more attention. Note, I wasn't sent to any room, it was just another counter. The guy asked for my zero balance, and doctors correspondence, counted my money, and said you are good to go. Merry Christmas. All this took about 10 minutes in all. Trying to settle down now. Igetam, how far Na.

God will bless everybody that advised, called, mailed. have a blissful new year and sorry for the long post

I respect your faith. Me I no fit mehn! Fear will catch me.
