Truth is that type of oil to use in ur car has a lot to do with ur vehicle history. if your car is brand new from manufacturer you can stick to type of oil recommended by ur vehicle naker. if your car is tokunbo or Nigerian used try and find out the oil grade used by the previous owner(s). Once bought a second hand vehicle, I changed the oil to synthetic and started experiencing oil shortage, later learned that synthetic oil contains detergents. I removed d synthetic n poured in mineral oil and the oil shortage stopped. |

sheantip: To clear the oil light, turn on just your ignition, you'll see trip 1 and trip 2 on your ODO,clear them by resetting to zero, then press and hold the reset button for some seconds to clear the light.Always do that whenever you change oil. 1 Like |

I drive 2003/2004 Toyota Corolla. I do top oil every 2weeks especially when i use it regularly and I have checked very well, there are no oil drops or spills around the engine and even where i park. I use mobile 20W50 XHP. The car is not smoking, I don't really know what could be the problem. |

Samony:Oil leaks can be sneeky Your Oil might be leaking unto ur exhust pipe which burns it off . What you need to do is have ur car at a height where U can go under and remove the splash pan under the Engine . Do an Engine wash B4 this U will find where the leak is Also check your coolant if it's mixed with oil . Or you might have one of them leaks which only happens when your Oil pump is doing its job 1 Like |

A mechanic poured Total classic sae 40 in my 99 CRV, since then there seem to be little oil shortage after sometimes and the car now smokes a bit unlike before, even when I've changed to total quartz. Any advice? The engine works fine but shakes when ac is turned high. no engine light on |

I drive a 2003 Toyota Camry, the engine oil keeps dropping and yet there are no sign of leakages anywhere neither am I getting any check engine light on my dashboard. I have changed from Mobil to Total to AMANSCO engine oil yet the problem still persist. What I do now is to have extra oil handy to top up when it drops. |
