There are strong indications that OBI OF EGBUDU AKA in Delta State may have passed on or critically ill.
According to an unconfirmed report, the possible longest ruling Monarch in Nigeria, may have joined his ancestors after all .
Obi of Egbudu Aka who was born in 1909, was crowned on the 12th of February 1946.
If the news of the Monarch’s demise becomes confirmed, sources close to nowayo said, ‘’according to tradition ‘it would be announced in January since it is speculated that he passed on, on October 1’.
Sources said there is palpable tension in the community as there has been an alleged serious breach of traditional rites.
Another source that pleaded anonymity revealed that one of the sons known as Solomon, a well known Pastor in the community and who is reportedly the 5th in the line of the sons of the Obi has broken into the Palace with some of his supporters and have crowned himself the King.
The drum of confusion sounding from that region does not sound like a call for peace in the nearest future.
