Even dangote newly commissioned Tomato Processing Factory suspended operation, while monitoring economic improvement. The country is in recession and capital importation is low. These companies needs to be reasonable and considerate. If Chinese businesses/investors are trooping in and you are rushing out. Then, I doubt the viability of Erisco long-term plans. 2 Likes |

Act of selling monkey and buying dog means that we still have sitting animal in Our house. You want Nigeria to be self manufacturing of it's products and at the same time fails to encourage the manufacturers. who is deceiving who |

Truth234:you are not forking serious by your last paragraph. Dude, do you have a company in your name? You that's even man your father's 2 by 2 shop is talking about running a multimillion dollar business. It's comment like yours that would make me almost stab a friend if not that wasn't in my presence the day he is "God will punish GEJ" as the cause of the current economic woes. You have no idea what is going out. Should a house be left to burn because you didn't start the fire? |

Truth234: I think you failed to read the report before commenting. The issue is unfavourable policies towards Nigerian own companies in-favour of foreign ones. I speak with experience having faced similar situation of unfavourable government policies towards Nigerian companies. This is really a sad news 1 Like |

Truth234: The problem is not that Chinese businesses/investors are trooping in? It is that in the tomato paste sector, they're not coming in to setup factories and employ workers. They're only coming to dump tomato paste already manufactured in China. Even Dangote is suspending operations. And he can afford to wait and run losses because he has a large business empire. This Erisco guy only runs tomato processing as the major and only business, you cannot expect him to sit, close his factory and wait, while his loans are still counting. You sef reason am. The stupid fact is that the man gave the FG 30 days ultimatum to change things, yet nothing happened. What does that say about the government? -Lord |
