Three corps members were crushed to death by a car recently in Enagi town on Bida-Lagos express way in Niger state.Witnesses said the vehicle lost control and crushed the corps members, who were returning to their lodge, killing them on the spot.
The bodies of Utazi Samuel, Adeshola Olarenwaju and Chucks Ugoeze were deposited at the Federal Medical Centre in Bida.According to the Commissioner for Youth Development Mr Timothy Jiya, the driver of the vehicle has since been arrested and is being interrogated.

He said the driver who is an employee of the National Examinations Council (NECO) was on his way to an official assignment in the eastern part of the country when the accident occurred. He said the state government in its effort to cushion the effect of the loss on the families of the deceased had given N1 million cash to each of the families for their burial.

so everyone who dies in Nigeria from an accident is another 'waste of life in the name of Nigeria' eh?
This could have happened anywhere. I know some of you dislike the concept and existence of NYSC but you don't have to blame the programme for everything!

Very sad story.

Something tells me that GOWON actually dedicated this programme to some kind of "BLOOD SUCKING IDOLS" before it started. Am not deceived by his NIGERIA PRAYS PROJECT at all. Its time he is called to explain to Nigerians the behinde the scenes events of this his idea.

Because I grew up in Nigeria and aware that emergency medical services for accident victims is NON-EXISTENT, that phrase "killing them on the spot" has interesting dimensions.

May their souls rest in peace!

With all levels of government in Nigeria putting in their best to see which will be the most useless, emergency medical services for accident victims will only exist in the movies. How about those death traps called roads? The pathetically useless federal government will do everything in its power to avoid fixing those roads.
