Please is there a cure? Can the baby grow to reach adulthood or should she be humanely put to sleep? The poor girl would be in pains no?

Hmmm....

Mehn i feel for the parents of this child. cry cry. I know some religious peeps here may disagree with me but for me the best option is to give her an injection that make her die peacefully.

chisos!

Probably abortion gone wrong or some drugs used during the third trimester of the pregnancy!

No drug taken during third or even second trimester can give a foetus such abnormality. Most cases, before the embryo in implanted in the uterus, it had already gotten genetic abnormality. A lot of things could go wrong between conception and implantation of embryo in the womb but God lets nature take its course but not in all cases.

It's in cases like this you'd appreciate Medical Science.

Some parts of the illiterate world, they'd term this as failed abortion or even witchcraft.

I've seen this very rare case, and it's termed "Harlequin Ichthyosis". Basically a skin disorder during formation. The skin is so hard, firming shapes that are separated by fissures known as deep cracks.

This should be Nigeria's first case, (that I've heard of/seen)

1 in about 500,000 births globally.

But Sadly....

Poor kid.
To the future mumus.
That child is not a demon or a spirit or a whatever.
That is a very unfortunate victim of circumstance.

This could be as a result of drug abuse or exposure to some sort of chemicals. God help them.

This nonsense you dropped here has no bearing with the condition of this innocent sweet baby, this is a genetic malfunctioning and could happen to anyone..

Her condition is not strange to the medical world (Maybe in Nigeria) but certainly well know and research are going on in many international labs as we write to really discover why the genes could distort to this extent..

Please show some intellectual decorum, if you understand that word.. Mtsheeww!

Totally uncalled for, well your arrogance is not unusual in this part of the world.

please note that this is a public forum and many intellectuals in various fields visit here, believe me, u are far from being the most enlightened and intellectual person here.

if u must correct someone from the little u know, kindly do with decorum.
