Climate change is a global issue that needs global action and for it to be holistically practised, there is need for world leaders to apolitically come together to create global leadership pillars that will be used to fight climate change.

Thinking strategically, there are four global leadership pillars that I believe will be a penetrating catalyst weapon against climate change in order not to go beyond the 2°C threshold.

These global leadership pillars are VISION, CAPACITY, TEAMWORK and MOTIVATION

Vision

Vision is an imaginative picture of desire that calls for action and from United Nations’ 2015 Paris Agreement, it will be noted that the vision of the agreement is to have 100% clean renewable energy for all. Marrakech Climate Change Conference that will start in 7th November, 2016, in Morocco, is the strongest indication that proves the collectiveness of United Nations’ vision against climate change.

Therefore, the United Nations has created the global leadership pillar of vision that calls for global action against climate change.

And in order to achieve this vision, there is need to create the second global leadership pillar of capacity.

Capacity

Global leadership without enough capacity is global leadership without strength of focus to meet target.

Therefore, the world leaders should come together like cement and sand to form a global capacity that will be fit enough to fight climate change not to exceed the 2°C threshold.

To form this global capacity, each world leader has an innovative role to play in his/her nation with respect to carbon control by doing the followings

· Promoting carbon farming and empowering indigenous farmers with modern technological farming approach that is climate change resilient.

· Formulating a shipping policy that does not abnormally pollute the atmosphere with greenhouse emission.

· Completely changing from nonrenewable energy supply to renewable energy supply

· Analog and digital orientation (hybrid orientation) to urban and rural residents on how to stop influencing climate change by desisting from bush burning, deforestation, gas flaring, burning of plastic rubbers etc

· Proper funding of STEM education to the youths which will make them to individually understand climate science

To also form this global capacity, each country should reduce carbon emission by putting its Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDC) in action

Team work

Global leadership without teamwork is global leadership with no unique attitude, no trust and no sense of uniform direction.

The followings are the examples of global leadership teamwork that are already in action

· Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)

· The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)

· Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

· Centre For Climate Change And Energy Solution (C2ES)

· International Energy Agency (IEA)

· International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI)





Motivation

Global leadership without motivation is a global leadership without global social character and with less global productivity.

Lack of global leadership motivation is the weak point the world leaders are presently having with respect to fighting climate change.

The world leaders are yet to practically motivate their people about the co- benefits of fighting climate change.

Their leadership angles are yet to optimally promote global social character against climate change.

With respect to climate change, the world leaders need to know that there is weak global social character against climate change because many of their followers are yet to be convinced about the global threat of climate change.

Communicating about the co-benefits of fighting climate change will motivate people, public institutions and private institutions to act against climate change.


If the United Nations could be able to form Paris Agreement, over passed the minimum 55% signatory for the Paris Agreement to enter into force, it is possible to control earth’s temperature not to exceed 2 degree Celsius.
