Late Lt. Col. Abu Ali has been trending for the past three days now. His Superiors and subordinates have equally lost their lives in their line of duties over the years fighting boko haram, but none has generated this much sympathy across the country, why? Because Lt. Col. Abu Ali distinguished himself in his line of duty. He led as a fine officer, related with his superiors and subordinates excellently. It's not all Nigerians that knew Mr Abu Ali personally, but from the eulogies of his fellow officers, senior and junior ones, it's easy to conclude that he not only led his life as a fine officer but also as an amazing individual.
This should be a lesson to us all, we shouldn't just praise Lt. Col. Abu Ali and others for their heroic act, they lived and died for Nigeria and humanity. If we don't continue with what they died for, we have already failed them. Military men and civilians alike, let's strive to make the world a better place, serve those we represent fairly and excellently, only then our prayers and mourning of these Heros will be genuine. Boko haram have done a lot of damage to our collective progress as a nation, the scars are still fresh, let's support our military to wipe them out of the surface of the earth. Our leaders also need to reflect, those that are making the prosecution of those that misappropriated the funds meant to buy weapons for our soldiers to easily fight these savages also need to have a rethink, they are indirectly helping boko haram succeed, we need to make example of these unpatriotic and disgusting elements in our society. The families of these soldiers have been rendered heartbroken, our military institutions lost their finest men in this battle, the only way we can do justice to what they fought for is doing right by them even in their absence. May their soul rest in perfect peace and may almighty Allah give their families the fortitude to bear the loss!
