at the bold part, you probably haven't come across guys who are good in hiding their true identity.
secondly what you feel for the guy also counts cus most times we chose to ignore the signs we see in our partner all in the name of love and hoping the person will change..
so you don't have to completely blame her and by the way, there is a possibility that she must have broken up with him and he still insist on not letting go.
