Government should legalize this already and develop these small scale refineries, to at least prevent the shortages of the products since we sometimes depend on imported refined petroleum. Just an opinion though.

FG should also extend their clamp down on criminality on those herdsmen who have become terror to land owners.

My opinion though,

why not move to regulate the quality of petroleum products these guys produce...and ensure they are pay taxes to the appropriate Govt. unit[s].

The State cannot give them gainful employment...it is wise, however to regulate the ones they can create.

I don't see any pride nor achievement in destroying what can employ at the same time generate revenue and also increase the supply and flow of petroleum products.

iwanake aba o!

Took the 'thought right out of my head'! As much as i like this government (and pro-APC -by necessity though), i don't support some of the rubbish they do. Your point is so spot-on, abeg. And my main frustration with -some of- these armed personnel is the fact that they equate "power" with guns, violence and most importantly stupidity.

Good examples: People protesting about BIAFRA: Shoot; Shite Protesters in Kaduna: Shoot; Illegal refineries: Burn/Destroy...etc. There better ways (like one you just posted above) that both the government and "villains", if you will, will achieve a 50/50 or win-win solution that makes everybody happy.

There's SO much we can learn from a protest, peaceful though, likewise from the guys that illegally refine petroleum products and a host of others who use ingenuity to create innovation seemingly out of nothing. Please trolls, before y'all start to con chop, i'm not suggesting that people who commit capital offence(s) should be part of this sorta plea bargain -at ALL.

God bless Nigeria.

I am yet to see Soldiers clearing illegal Gold and other solid minerals in the North why?
They dont pay any tax to the Govt, so stop harassing illegal bunkerers in the Niger Delta except there would be equity by also arresting gold bunkerers in the North because whateveris good for Danjuma is also good for Efe

Hmmm.... it doesnt work like that. I used to think refining crude into a very utilisable end is that easy, till i discovered more. Those illegal refineries these people set up to work on stolen crude cant produce the spirit that usualy fuels your car engine without immediate repercussion on your engine. I cant rememba the slightest thing it can be useful for now. Try research more on it too
