Do people gain experience without work

They always come up with these obnoxious requirements after they have secretly employed their brothers and sisters

These requirements are for formalities, indirectly telling you that there no more vacancies because they have employed people that wouldn't even take part in the interview

They should say no vacancy, instead of fooling people without connection.

I am sweet 16 with 20 years of experience."

A quote I once saw on a sweetshirt.

The supply of labor exceeds demands so employers are looking for ways to screen out the army of uninvited applicants who seek jobs by demanding for unrealistic qualifications.

Lets face it , no matter how qualified you think you are you have to learn your new employers modus operandi.

Its all about trust and not qualifications, people are hired on the basis of trust and not qualifications.

You employer tells you how to do his job.

The HR or recruiter already has his applicant he/she want to fill in that vacant position.Hence,he came up with that criteria so as to drop his/her non preferred applicant.

Such ads should tell you about the company..... academic qualifications are not important to gain employment or promotion.

Even though 30years is an exaggeration. Nigerian graduates need to understand that "experience"isn't necessarily the blue collar jobs they all strive for.

What did you do in your undergraduate days? Did you volunteer at any organisation, apply for opportunities to travel out of this country. All of these experiences prepare you for opportunities in the future and they always have some sort of relevance.

To all undegraduates reading this, don't spend your life only reading or only partying. Please be dynamic and adventurous. Look for opportunities to learn all you can, apply for fellowship and travel opportunities. There are several online.

Take online courses on websites like edX, Coursera, MIT courseware. There are several of them.

I see too many one-way academic graduates. You need to step up your game
Well, you made a valid point. Being dynamic as a student or in whatever field we find ourselves is fantastic and avails wonderful opportunities. Notwithstanding, it is pertinent to point out that our system in this country is a total failure & discouraging.

Most jobs in the country a secured via referrals (man-know-man) & other unfair means resulting to high rate of mediocrity in various fields. If it were like this in other climes, I wonder if the word "excellent" would be in existence.
