The aircraft was evaluated during GEJ's tenure, we are supposed to receive 3 units which Buhari ordered.

GEJ bought 4 Attrition replacement Alphajets, these are not Alpha jets. The above jets are modern multi-role, 4th generation JF-17 thunders. It is believed we are ordering 20 units in all.

GEJ ordered 6 units of MI-35M helicopters, Buhari ordered 6 more units, that's 12 units in all.

It has not yet been delivered, we expect deliveries to commence this month.
But why can't we start manufacturIng some these things ourself.

I mean the arms not aircraft.

Imports upon imports All the time.

We have began to learn lessons and are now manufacturing. We still have a long way to go, but we have started, that's all that matters.

With all the weapons used already and the purchased ones, the boko haram still exists. How are they sure purchasing more weapons will stop the operations of boko haram?
Lets face the fact. Physical weapons can not end this war. Violence can only create more violence.
Let Nigerians try the weapon of prayers and fasting. But the sad thing is that Most Nigerians don't care, they feel less concerned. Even those singing hypothetic 'bring back our girls' songs.
If we could feel the pains of the victims, humble ourselves before God, turn from our wicked ways and pray, God will hear us and heal our land
You are a real dunce for suggesting the weapon prayers and fasting for those infidels. let them kidnap your sister or your family member and tell me if you will remember to pray. people like you is the reason why Africa is so backward with religion.

Under GEJ you will hear billions were spent to buy arms but you will not hear a word about process steps taken nor see a picture of arms supplied.

If you talk wailers will say it was top secret.

Never again shall we load cash into private planes and make kurukere moves in the name of buying arms.
It amounts to doing nothing

Change!

That is not a good war strategy. By so doing, you tell your enemies your weaponry.

Wait o Pakistan that can not keep its citizens safe against Taliban, Al Qaeda and others is selling weapons to you people...I pity una

Pakistan unlike Nigeria took initiative to build up its arms industry. They even have nuclear weapons. We have potential for both but rather beg and spend money other countries arms.

We could do same since we already manufacturer small arms and ammunition. The thing we lack are stuff like jets, tanks, warships, night vision tech etc. If we put NYSC to work that would be excellent start.

why would army chiefs go to inspect weapons ... where are the supposed nigerian weapon experts/specialists ...

my country Nigeria ...

a country with a lot of square pegs in round holes ...

Which people do you expect to have more experience in weapons inspection? Dont you know that some officers studied engineering and other related courses that deals with weapons in NDA and besides they have been in battle fields and have practical experience in weapons handling.

To be honest some of the comments I read here are quite baffling.

I don't know who is advising this people but We Do Not Need this Arms. This arms end up in the wrong places other than the military itself. Non state actors and hoodlums end up gaining access to this Arms and ammunitions and the common man on the street becomes the nearest victim.
The Us and countries denying us access to arms are fully in the know of our attitude and don't want to risk it.

Useless people from a useless country called Nigeria.
They are not even ashamed of themselfs.

When did Pakistan and india gain independence from the same Britain that colonized us?
Today they have a huge military industry, from guns to rockets,to nuclear weapons.

Now the stupid Nigerians are runing down to Pakistan to buy guns.

Shamesless people.

I have an issue with publicizing millitary issues, these are topics that are not supposed to hit mainstream media, I don't know how but it creates the idea of some african jungle rebels when i see things like this.. do our respectable officers seek to score political points with these pics? why publicizing them? Even if we are going to buy, do we hit mainstream media telling the whole world that we just bought these?,........... SMH

Here are photos showing the Nigerian military delegation checking out some assault rifles and other weapons in Pakistan -as the war against insurgency in the country (Nigeria) continues.
