Life In Room A107 by Stoner069(m): 2:02pm On Nov 21, 2016 |
Life in A107 (Episode 1) ![]() They say life begins in the University but in A107, one couldn't really tell. It was 6:32 in the morning and the room was about to be plunged into full activation. By activation, I mean sharing of views and ideas, dumb and bright alike. Tosin took out his lovely companion, A-Z of the English Language to read and as always, it was as easy as trying to open a rusty lock . In seconds he was in his perfect ghost mode, on his bed, head buried in his book. It was Awamba who broke the silence this morning. He let out a teasing remark, shouting at Derry who was making some supposedly sexual passes. 'Guy now....leave me alone. There's Segun, there's May, there's Tobi and there's Tosin. Tosin!' Tosin wasn't ready to hear his name being repeated this morning and he had to try out what he was learning from the English textbook 'Are you crazy? Why are you mentioning my name anyhow?' 'Calm down, so you'll not throw one shell this morning' Awamba was ready to face Tosin, he didn't mind. Skeeny announced his presence, with a yawn and his trademark 'K' 'You, you'll just woke up and be talking nonsense' Tosin wasn't relenting. Awamba couldn't contain his laughter. He let out a sickening sound which he used to replace laughter. This noise was complemented by the noise from Sunshi striking Tobi's locker. That did it! Everyone was awake. Pelumi, waking up with a hiss realises he has a test scheduled for 8am and he hadn't read a dot for it. Well...what could he do? Attendance had its marks. Tosin was enjoying his little self test and decided to try it out on Pelumi. 'Stupid child. You're just lazy.' 'Who's talking with this drug lord?' Pelumi had a way of silencing people that was so funny. Just that question and Tosin was mute for the rest of the morning. Yes! Tosin hated the nick (drug lord), an effective tool of Awamba's to weaken his spirit. Tobi returned from the bathroom to prepare for classes and as usual, May was fast asleep. It wasn't Monday so he'd probably wake up around 3pm. Tobi had a lot on his mind. He just found out about a course he registered and hasn't been attending its lectures. What a student! A stunt large bellied figure pushed the door opened. It was Victor. He flung all the clothes he found on his bed away, provoking Tobi's anger. Tobi's belt was one of the deported accessories. He let out an irritated expression 'When will this boy have sense?' 'I think around...2076!' Skeeny's answer started another round of laughter. Arnold just felt the urge to make an impression and he blurted out 'He's not just bright' Unlike Skeeny's, Arnold's point heralded a round of hisses. Even from Olumide, the room's dryest personality. Like other rounds, this round of hisses was ended by Sweeny's 'K now!' 'Nigma...Howfar naa?' Ore asked, looking at Adams who was about to press his clothes. 'Nigma dey oh' 'Who nd who dey perform?' Awamba innocently asked 'People that hv blown' Skeeny's use of sarcasm was exceptional. He was trying to rule out the possibility of someone performing. Sunshi didn't leave it there, he wanted to elaborate 'So...you mean.... May won't perform' 'He's shaa better than you, Sunshi nd the beat!' That reply from Awamba was enough to silence Sunshi but laughter wasn't forth coming, the joke wasn't well. This was where Skeeny excelled. He looked round and with the funniest of tones, he sed 'Oops, something went wrong!' Another round of laughter ensued, this time as if it would never stop. |
