16 Easy Ways To Get Everyday Things Done. by Nobody: 1:00am On Nov 25, 2016
There are many things we do and assume is the best but unfortunately, those ways are actually not the best. Here are the best ways to do these things if you’ve probably been doing it the wrong way all this while.

1. Crossing Out Words

When we are writing and we make a mistake, what we quickly do is to strike through or cancel by shading through. That is not the best way because people can still read and worst of, it makes your script dirty. The best way is to write through that particular word with letters. This makes it unreadable.

2. Keeping Cords From Getting Tangled

Usually what we do with our phone chargers and earpiece is to scramble them into our pockets and when it’s time to get them out, we go through a whole lot getting it in order because they are all tangled up. This wastes time and it is always a mess. You can keep your cords straight by passing it through a spring which you can get from a press pen.

3. Peeling A Banana

Most people peel a banana from the base. What if we were to tell you, you’ve been doing it wrong all this while. Peeling a banana from the base means you will be holding and eating the banana from the tip which is actually the weakest part of the banana and in case you’ve noticed, this usually makes the banana topple and fall more times. The best way to peel a banana is from the tip and not the base, so you can hold onto the base while you eat.

4. Wearing A Bobby Pin

The side you’ve been wearing your bobby pin all this while is wrong. The undulating part is rather supposed to be beneath and not on top. The design is meant to hold onto whatever you’re putting on in place and the flat side is meant to be invisible and so when you wear it the other way round, it becomes visible which is not what the manufacturers meant for it to be.

5. Cutting Water Melon

Everybody cuts watermelons into slices which is actually wrong. Doing so means when you’re eating it, the water will drip and ruin your shirt or attire. The right way is to cut it in half, turn it face down and cut it in grids, this way, you can easily pull out a slice and it will be easy to consume without the water getting into your shirt.

6. Wearing Of Ear buds (Earpiece)

Everybody picks their ear buds or earpiece and straight ahead we put it directly into our ears and because it was not designed to be fitted that way, it easily falls out and we have to push it back in from time to time. The easiest and best way to fit your ear buds into your ears is to wrap the cable around your ears and fit the buds into your ears, that way, the cable fixes the buds firmly in place and it wouldn’t fall off.

7. Holding Your Pen

Most of us hold our pen in the middle, this makes our handwriting sloppy and also makes us tired easily especially during an exam. The best way to make your handwriting better and write for long hours is to hold the pen at the base close to the tip of the pen.

8. Chilling Your Beer Faster

If you have a beer and want it to chill faster because you want to drink it right away, the best thing to do is to get a paper towel wet and wrap it around the bottle and put it in the fridge, within a matter of about 5 minutes, the beer will become cold.

9. Using An Elevator

When using an elevator and you mistakenly press a floor, the right thing to do is to tap that floor button twice to cancel the selection. Most people do nothing and when the elevator gets to that floor, the door opens expecting them to come out but they stay idle till it moves to their desired floor. Waste of time.

10. Choosing The Right Avocado

To determine if an avocado is perfectly ripe, check the tip where there is usually stem springing out. You can break it off if it’s there and check the opening. If it’s black then it means it is overripe but if it’s light green then it is slightly ripe but if it is dark green then it is not ripe.

11. Whiten Your Clothes With Egg Shells

Do you know you can whiten your clothes without using bleach? The easiest way to do this is by cooking some eggs and taking out the eggshells. Crush them, add lemon and tie them in a cloth and add it to your clothes in the washing machine, your clothes will come out brighter than you ever expected.

12. Get Hair Out Of Your Hairbrush With A Tooth Brush

If you get hair stuck in your hairbrush and you have difficulty getting it out, the best way to easily get it out is by using a toothbrush.

13. Dry Your Wet Phone In A Bag Of Rice

If your phone falls in water, put it in a bag of rice and all the water will drain from the phone. The grains of rice will absorb the moister in the phone and leave it completely dry.

14. Getting Scratches Off Your CD

If you have dense scratches on your CD and really need the information on it, you don’t need to buy a disc cleaner, just get some banana, peel it and smear the fruit on the CD. After that, use the peel to wipe it clean. This will take out all the scratches and it will work perfectly.

15. Cleaning Your Canvas

Cleaning your canvas can be one of the toughest things to do and so many people leave it dirty till it’s ruined but the easiest way to clean it is with toothpaste. Yes, good old toothpaste. This will leave it coming out as new.

16. Getting Your Wine Chilled

Sometimes we grab a bottle of wine in the house and realise it is hot and putting it in the fridge will take a while so the fastest thing that comes to mind is to grab some ice cubes and pour the wine over it. Well! this will still get the wine chilled no doubt but what you do not know is that the ice cube is water and when it finally melts, it decreases the unique taste of the wine. So instead of using ice cubes, it will be better to get some grapes and put them in the freezer for future use. Not only will it get your wine chilled, it will also give it a nice flavour while still keeping the unique taste of your wine intact.
