Black Friday the day after Thanksgiving, noted as the first day of traditional Christmas shopping, during which crowds of consumers are drawn to shops, supermarkets, groceries stores and other commercial outlet for special offers on their goods and services.

It was a massive hit in the U.S, Brazil, Japan even in Durban South Africa, but reverse was the case in Britain and this scenario is not far-fetched in the Nigeria context. Here are four (4) reasons why black Friday might be a failure in Nigeria this 2016

Economic Recession
The harsh economic situation in our country is one of the biggest challenges that will hinder this year’s Black Friday. Most shoppers will be prevented from participating in this annual event. Money is key to purchase anything you want. How do you purchase goods, if you don’t have money to buy them? Everyday people lose their jobs, non-employment rate on the rise. The economy is static, the cost of goods keep increasing while income remains static. So tell me, how an ordinary Nigerian citizen can benefit from this if he/she has no financial ability?
