I support the government in this data tax hike and many other taxable forms of revenue that makes national collective and progressive sense. Most of which they already do. I haven't fully researched this subject especially from the government's point of view and the technical capabilities of telecommunication infrastructure from several owners. I have heard several hearsays but its now becoming interesting. From my mediocre understanding of this situation. I think it is a great idea. It is a source of instant revenue for the government and us(the people the govt are working for). Without getting into too much details, am about to share my idea on a new post soon about how things should work. It will be called the Great Nigerian Sacrifice. I want to believe it will add a good amount of money to a massive infrastructural project, for example- drastically improve the power supply to the national grid. To be honest, power supply to a respectable reliability nation wide will take more than a telecommunication tax. My worry is that Nigerians are good but untrustworthy of ourselves most times within Nigeria itself, forget about outside trust. We don't trust the public bus driver to take us to our destinations safely; we don't trust the conductor to give us the correct change or for them to even be real drivers and conductors; we shine our eyes(alert) in the buses and many other places - no dulling; We on alert from stepping out of the house until we come back to the house, sometimes you have to be on alert from family members and armed robbers - both of which are very credible so no dulling. Nigeria's government needs a little better structure but Nigerian officials on the other hand lack accountability in many levels especially when it comes to money. There lies my problem. Overall, it can be add to projects that build better roads with drainage or just build better drainage and water supply network nationally; Maybe it could be added to funds that maintain schools and NYSC camps, for teachers pay, etc. There's layers to these things, I understand, but we should be working towards money for visible developments. Our educational system is very mediocre especially the universities. Land tax need to come soon. How do you tax with minimum wage. Our network of things forensically and physically are somewhat archaic. Am already writing up a storm, President buhari might have a long term plan in play here. He travelled to several countries of importance to block public looters loopholes, then with the national financial burden, he is finding ways to get money for development. The shine eye here for me is a lot but especially the honesty of the various programs and the waste factors involved. I just hope that they are right. I reject the protectionism we are trying to play about all these things we can't import. if we can't import by law then we can't export by other peoples laws. 3 Likes |

AgapeHate: Guy, i nearly died of laughter. I particularly liked number 6 on the list. I honestly think Seun has not thought it through completely. Think about it. There is no reward for having one ID and to make matters worse, you can create a new ID in less than 5 minutes so why piss off members and force them to create multiple ID's? It just doesn't make any rational sense. I'm sure if an audit is done to identify the exact number of actual members on NL, Seun will be shocked at the result. 1 Like |
