GSM subscribers will have to pay more for data from December 1, 2016. MTN in particular has sent messages to its users that prices will soon change. A senior management employee of Etisalat Nigeria told Punch that NCC is increasing prices because it feels Nigerians pay too low for internet subscriptions. “The NCC issued the directive late last week on the orders of the Federal Government. We have not announced it yet because most of the major telcos have been meeting the NCC on how to reverse this policy, because it will be too harsh for Nigerians. “However, we further gathered that the Federal Government took the decision having discovered that data rates are very low-priced in Nigeria, compared to other countries, including nearby African countries. An employee of MTN revealed the price of data has been doubled. “What this means is that MTN, Airtel, Etisalat And Globacom will increase their data rates as from December 1, 2016. A data plan of N1,000 for 1.5 Gigabytes will now be increased to N3,000 at N1,000 per 500 Megabytes.” Exciting times for Nigerians. cc: lalasticlala Source: http://360jamng.net/heres-why-the-government-is-increasing-data-prices-from-december-2016/

What on earth is going on in this country of ours! No food, no job, no social amenities, no roads and not even a bit of truth from our government, yet what they think about is to instill more pains and hardship to the already impoverished masses...........Where are we really heading to? |
