This is the most hardworking government in the world...they are working hard delivering pains and sorrows.

We would be happier if they took a break till 2019 and allow Nigerians to constitute a government that understands the purpose of governments in the first place.

People that know that they have responsibilities...not just right to push people around, enjoy heavy underserved salaries and allowances.

When our children shall be reading about us, they would be wondering how people like Femi Adesina could talk trash easily. They would be wondering how these ones can claim they are not cavemen.

sure people are...

but only those who:

1. still depend on benefactors & don't know what it means to be responsible;

2. paid hacks & those profiting from the shambles we have found ourselves in;

3. those with a skewed sense of history & are too lazy to do any research but come here as enlightened illiterates...

& before silly kids quote me, let me drop a food for thought for you all...

pre- May 2015, a bag of imported rice was sold for N12,000 in Benin Republic while it sold for N12,000 in Nigeria.

as at today, a bag of rice still sells for N12,000 in Benin while it goes for N20,000+ in Nigeria.

lesson?

its not your volume of imports that actually wreck your economy, its how well you manage the situation & turn it around to be a blessing rather than a curse.

No govt is delivering pain and sorrow. It is laziness and fetishness that's delivering pain and sorrow to people that are hungry. Go ask a small time farmer who is truly productive about the pain and sorrow in his own corner.

You are talking pure crap bros . . .
Import volume kills any economy anyday anytime.
When you import, you indirectly:
import raw material thereby patronising a foreigner instead of your own 'brother'
you employ a foreigner and thus pay a foreigner who is less likely to patronize you in return and thus pay you back
you devalue you local currency because importation takes away you capital.

first off, your first statement shows you are a classic nitwit & first class crap 'opinionist'.

now let's get down to brass tacks...

ever heard of the term ' comparative advantage'?

every single country in the world has goods (& services) which it imports in massive quantities, but with proper leverage on your strengths & sound & purposeful socioeconomic & POLITICAL policies, you can negate dire effects on your economy.

for instance,

1. you don't insult, ridicule & go to war with the region that is your major source of foreign exchange... bad move..

2. you don't kick against devaluation of your currency, then partially devalue it only to come out 2 days later to say that you dont agree to the devaluation... that sends signals of a confused government (& policies) to investors.

it is good, you study your economic textbooks well, but sociopolitical issues have a big influence on economics.

again, for instance, since the price of crude oil, the raw material for refined oil has reduced by about 50% & there is even a glut in the market... shouldn't common economic sense dictate that the price of crude related products reduce drastically? or at least not increase?

instead the silly government creates tension in the ND region, devalues the naira & then ties the price of refined product to the devalued naira.
