A 300 level Statistics student of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago Iwoye, Mustafa Fatimo, can testify that Allah hears the entreaties of a distressed soul. With aging parents, Fatimo found herself in a rough sea that threatened to flounder her academic dream. As an aspiring graduate, the journey became so tough that she had to do menial jobs to support herself and her siblings. Despite the challenges, academically, she remained an eagle that never perched on low ground as she is among the best 5 students in her department. Fatimo, who is determined to achieve her aim and become a graduate, kept knocking on every door for help. She shunned cynicism, and kept up the fight to bag a degree. Relief came to her at the weekend, when she was advised by a friend to write a letter to Omoilu Foundation and seek for support.Fortunately, when she was about to submit the letter, she saw a lot of people waiting to see the chairman of the Foundation, Senator Buruji Kashamu and decided to stay behind after submitting the letter with the hope that succour will come her way. "A friend of mine advised me to write a letter to Omoilu Foundation seeking for their help. I need money to pay my school fees, I am a 300 level student of Olabisi Onabanjo University(OOU) Ago Iwoye. "On getting here, I saw a lot of people waiting to see the chairman of the Foundation, Senator Kashamu ,I decided to stay behind hoping that Allah will use him to solve my problem.To my greatest surprise, I was called in by one of the workers here and the sum of thirty five thousand naira(N35,000) was given to me by the Ogun State coordinator of the Foundation, Otunba(Comrade) Niyi Osoba. I am so grateful to our distinguished Senator Kashamu for keeping my dream of becoming a graduate alive. Allah will reward him abundantly," she said. In another development, the foundation also donated the sum of ninety four thousand naira (N94,000) to one Toluwalase Opeyemi of No 54, Kugba street, opposite Malo filling station in Abeokuta to enable her undergo surgery to correct a benign tumour of muscular and fibrous tissues, developing in the wall of her womb. Presenting the cash to Opeyemi, the State coordinator of the Foundation, Otunba(Comrade) Niyi Osoba said the gesture came under the Foundation's healthcare programme. "The gesture came under the healthcare programme of the Senator Buruji Kashamu-led Foundation, is part of the series of programmes lined up by the foundation to uplift the people," he said.
