The governor of Akwa Ibom state in Nigeria has escaped unhurt from a church collapse in the state's capital, Uyo. Udom Emmanuel said aftewards that he was devastated by the tragedy. Dozens of people were killed in the incident. Emmanuel, who was attending a service when the building came down, promised government's help for those affected.
