This fiscal "road map" is a complete joke. It shows no recognition of the need to make Nigeria a more attractive destination for capital by easing barriers to doing business, privatizing government "assets" and deregulating the economy. There is absolutely no acknowledgement that the scale of investment Nigeria needs is too vast to be funded by government-driven (or even merely domestic private) activity, even in the form of the "PPP" so beloved of Nigerian politicians. The list displays not the slightest hint of awareness of how lacking in credibility Nigeria's monetary policies are, nor the deterrent effect that the country's tardy and corruption-riddled court system has on FDI. One will look in vain for anything which will strengthen private property rights, or extend the reach of banking to the larger populace. All this worthless "road map" contains is a bunch of random tweaks calculated to look good only to those who are ignorant of economics and finance.

How can you increase supply more than demand in the period of dollar scarcity?? We are in d period of lowest dollar revenue and you are saying increase dollar supply b4 reducing d demand? Bros!
don't mind some people, they just know how to read it out the way they see it on paper written by an author from somewhere else. they don't understand how it works in practical.
some people don't even know why we are short of dollar. that is why someone will praise the Avengers, look down on government effort towards reviving agriculture and go to another thread to blame Buhari for the gap between the naira and dollar.

Wow good eye. I missed those points you raised but to be honest most of us are still reading and processing these points and sub points lol.

The economic freedom ranking in nigeria is trash. Ease of business is stupid because of curruption. Moving products on roads is difficult because of graft needed for officers not to harass you.

Point 4 tariffs reduction seem like good start. Increasing non oil exports seems obvious but lacks depth.

This is not a plan.

All I see here is mere wishful thinking (which we've always had in abundance).

A plan does not just talk about WHAT to do...

a plan talks about HOW, WHY, WHEN and WHERE to do WHAT.

All I saw in the so called 10 point agenda is like take away note from a two-day seminar or workshop.

i guess is just comic write-up that won't be 30% executed come Nov, 2017. This government is just a big joke. If you will recall the number of months it took The Federal Government to appoint our serving Ministers and not to even talk of the Inec's Returning officers. I regret vouching for this government, they are just too slow in making efficient policies and another funny fact is that they have made so many campaign promises more than what they can even deliver. Let's wait and see what Nigeria will look like come January, 2019.

They meant reducing dollar demand for consumption and increase dollar supply for manufacturing. You know they were written in bullet point. You need to understand the context to make right interpretation.

You don't have to explain to him he actually knows what it means but blinded by his hatred for the administration.

This people just take up issues from the face value without considering the deep underlying factor.

That is a typical example. He refused to consider the fact that it is a bulletin and not the full document hence he jumped into conclusion.

Nigerians should thank Buhari for his prudent management of the economic resources; truth be told 85% of the country's forex comes from oil sector.. Now that oil business has gone bad terribly what magic are we expecting..Better we pray for the present economic diversification program to yield the expected results. That is the only solution in sight for now. Our quick fix it cydrum can not work in this cenario at all. I know God in his infinit wisdom is using this situation to teach our leaders a very important economic lesson so to say. We should all pray that those who will assume power to come & mismanage our resources will never succeed again no matter their antics.
