Brethren, for those of us that reside abroad and still love our country, the image of our beloved country is very important. Unfortunately, embarrassing pictures and video clips are becoming too numerous on social media that portray Nigeria and Nigerians in bad light. Most of them relate to the jungle justice that fellow Nigerians visit on other fellow Nigerians. Acts like putting tires on individuals and burning them in public places because they stole are simply nauseating. Most disturbing however, is the brazen humiliation of women by stripping them nude in the public. Nothing can justify stripping and parading a woman nude in the streets. No human, male or female, deserves this level of humiliation. The critical question is, how do we put an end to this barbaric and retrogressive practice? I have taken a step to initiate an online petition through change.org and the link is appended below. Please copy and paste it in your browser to read and add your name so that, together, we can get the national assembly to pass a law that outlaws all forms of jungle justice in Nigeria. Please contribute your thoughts on this. Thank you.
