The Senate is a joke.

Soon, they'll have a reason to confirm Magu.

They did more than this with confirmation of ministerial nominees then.

There was also more deafening noise when the sting operations on those wigged thieves called judges was carried out but today we know who is the boss in charge.

You can't boss PMB around as you like just because you're a shamelessly corrupt group.

My friend go and take your medication!

Sagay just like bubu is an old hag whose tenure is almost over yet looking for relevance here instead of over there
Magu's rejection was based on security report from DSS and there are allegations that the guy is enjoying looters money for the house he stays.
Why is the Senate being battered for his rejection?
Saraki has not been able to be removed despite the huff and puff by the presidency, has anybody asked why?
Now the same Magu wants Senate confirmation?
Politics is complex not the way common people on the street see it.

Look at his spittle dripping mouth.

What about the damning DSS report?

It's vile and useless talk from people like Sagay and Babachir Lawal that ends of complicating issues for Buhari.

Comments like this is what is responsible for the level of our development.

The Senate may have credibility issues but that doesnt take away their responsibility to question and confirm appointee. If we sweep away the opposition of the Senate we may be setting the wrong precedence which will do more harm in future.

Characters like Prof. sign posts the quality of advice GMB gets. Magu should be made to defend himself. Magu should know that his police career is on the line. sometimes i wonder why some Nigerians insist on holding onto some positions forgetting that the future is bighter. Though i didnt buy into Ribadu's antics but if he was circumspect he would have left EFCC returned to the police and by now he could have reached the IG's position and from there he could have reformed the police who inturn would fight corruption head long but he choose to fall for the interest of politicians and ended his career unceremoniuosly. I wIsh GMB and his crew goodluck

As long as there exist morally compromised individuals like this who hold brief for corruption who insist that stolen moneg should be forgotten and left in the past then is there any wonder why CHANGE BEGINS WITH YOU? Why don't you go ahead and steal in America and shout political victimization and see observe the dirty slap that the judge will hand you.

Sagay God bless you and God punishment be upon the looters who diverted trillions for the smelly reelection bid of a nonchalant drunken failure may He restore the senses of the many fools who defend these thieves out of their abundance of stewpidity. Amin

What's your take on the DSS report on Magu.

You are the one who is morally corrupt. The DSS report which the senate is relying on is done by people out apc i suppose. An old man who all of a sudden start losing his grasp on things is talking trash and yourself posting nonsense in support. The idiot who you used hundreds of millions to cut invasive grass is still seating comfortable yet the anti corrupton adviser will not advice about that.

Is he bigger than the Senate?

Sagay? One lawless hypocrite claiming himself anti-corruption champion. Imagine a lawyer advising the president to go against a laid down procedure. He defends anything apc, right or wrong. I keep asking why he has not addressed the issue of corruption level against SGF? The man advised judges to step down when accused of corruption but said Amaechi cannot be advised to step down on mere allegation on the same issu. What hypocrisy can be more than that.?

Everyone in the executive arm is a saint. What a people of God
ijebuloaded:
Itse Sagay, chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Corruption, says the appointment of Ibrahim Magu, chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), will be “renewed” whether he is confirmed or not.

On Thursday, the senate refused to confirm Magu’s appointment after leaving the matter pending for five months.

But in a previous chat with The Interview, which was only revealed on Thursday, Sagay said: “Whether they like it or not, he (Magu) will be there. His chairmanship will keep on being renewed.

“Since Nuhu Ribadu left, we have not had a man with such sterling qualities as Ibrahim Magu and whether they like it or not, Magu will be there until he completes his term under the law.”

The EFCC chairman has a four-year tenure. From the EFCC Act, non-confirmation does not impair his duties.

Azu Ishiekwene, managing editor (MD)/editor-in-chief, described the edition as “arguably the best kept secret in the anti-corruption war”.

In the interview, Sagay said Magu’s delayed confirmation was “corruption fighting back”.

Also speaking on corruption in the judiciary, he said what retiring chief justices collect off the books is “frightening and totally unrelated to what the judiciary is entitled to”.

The National Judicial Council (NJC) recently suspended seven justices on allegations of corruption and two of them have so far been arraigned.

The Interview said its investigations, which Sagay neither confirmed nor denied, indicated that the NJC pays retiring justices up to N800m in cash and provides a house valued at N500m, off the books.

The practice started around 2010 and virtually all retired CJs have benefited from it.

“Something very serious is happening there,” Sagay said.

“Those rumours have some basis.”

No. Doing so will mean me defending Magu. I'm a neutral person here. Throwing it back to the senate or the DSS is simply being prejudiced. Magu is still alive. Wilson is still alive, Magu is at the centre of the controversy, their phone lines not connecting at this time gives credence to the whole accusation.

If it was an issue with a pdp related personality, They will be reachable and they will respond.

Sorry, anything other than a strong response from Magu in the first instance, will not be acceptable and should he remain in that office in spite of such allegation, that will further underscore the position that the Buhari's anti-corruption stance is useless.

See all the mumu comments. They all foolishly dodged the reason why they won't confirm Magu but want to force him down our throat. The same DSS broke into Judges house and the Yoruba slaves applauded the arrest of even their son Ademola too but now want the Senate to ignore the DSS report of Magu/Thunderbolt just because he is a slave to their dullard. Nicely done

I look up to no politician and I believe Prof Sagay has no relevance even though he heads the presidential anti-corruption advisory committee. He has no right whatsoever to control the National Assembly. If the National Assembly says no to Magu's confirmation, then NO it is.

Prof Sagay's opinion holds no water in this matter, the best he can do is to advise PMB on choice of another suitable candidate.

I guess you did not understand sagay point, He is not controlling Senate or tell them what to do, He is only telling them with or without their confirmation Magu will continue his work till the end of his tenure.
Re: Sagay: Magu Will Be EFCC Chairman Whether The Senate Likes It Or Not by Omeokachie: 12:32pm On Dec 16, 2016
Whose interest is Sagay serving?

You build up institutions and not people. We recycled a 72yr old man and this is how far it has taken us.

If Magu resigns today, will EFCC close shop? If the senate (elected and representing the people) have said Magu is not fit for the job, Who is Sagay to want to lord it over the nation?

Again who is Sagay fronting for?
Re: Sagay: Magu Will Be EFCC Chairman Whether The Senate Likes It Or Not by orisa37: 12:50pm On Dec 16, 2016
With the no confirmation of Magu by The Senate, Nigerians are telling The Presidency to SACK MAGU OUTRIGHTLY WITH IGNOMINY and The EFCC to start probing Magu immediately and recover all what he has corruptly enriched himself with. If these two punishments are not metred on Magu immediately, Mr. President can forget his claim to Anti corruption fight. Nigerians will henceforth regard him a Fraud and Fake. This Sagay also is a Sycophant and is corrupt. Mr. President should deal with him
