An accident along the Lokoja-Abuja highway has left no fewer than six students of the Federal Government Girls College, Abaji, a suburb of Abuja on Thursday morning seriously injured, PUNCH reports.

The accident occurred after a Honda jeep carrying the students rammed into a parked truck while trying to overtake a vehicle on the expressway.

The accident reportedly occurred around 9:30am as the students who have vacated for the term were traveling home for the Christmas and New Year holidays.

According to the report, the driver and the students who sustained injuries have been taken to the hospital for treatment.No life was lost.
