The name Jesus in hebrew means savior. There are times when I go through seemingly difficult situation, I know have a savior who is there to bring rescue and salvage me from the situation. He is my present help in the time of trouble. He assured me that even if I work through fire, it won't burn me.
The name Jesus means a strong tower. Proverbs18:10 says 'The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe'. In other words the name Jesus is a safe haven.
The name Jesus is potent. It is efficacious It has the ability to cause changes. Philippians3:10 '...that at the name of jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things in earth, and things under the earth...'


Sorry to say this, it is not recorded in history that the letter word "J" is added in hebrew language, so I don't know where they actually get d word Jesus.

And again the word "christian" was given by the pagan in order to differentiate them and the word shouldn't be word use because it wasn't use during d time of christ.

there are deluded people who believed this man died for their misdemeanors, they pray to this dead man everyday and cover themselves with the blood of this man

these people call themselves "Christians"

its a pity Nigeria has a huge population of people that believes a troublemaking carpenter suffering from delusion of grandeur

how can a Nigerian believe a Jew died for their sins when most of the people who saw him die didn't buy that? its like Americans claiming Murtala Mohammed died for their sins while Nigerians laugh at their delusions

It means everything. The all powerful name name. Very unique in power and authority. What amazed me most is if in *TRUTH*, the mentioning of that name JESUS the Kingdom of devil are always in panic this shows that the name Jesus's is all powerful too much for devil and his host to stand.

The name Jesus's is my banner and my shield it does not matter if anyone believes it or not the truth remains ever standing that it is the name above every other names either devil likes it or not, either people likes it or not does not matter the name is all powerful and it's iconic in every nature.

It depends on what you believe. It is very difficult for someone who was born into a christian home,celebrated over 35 christmasses and easter,for someone to tell me he does not exist. Well you are not compelled to believe in his existence,nor would you compell me to believe There is no God. We all choose to believe whatever we Want to. That name gives me peace,hope,reasurance when i'm going stuff;it puts me on the right track when i seem to be going the wrong way. Whether it is Real or not,i choose to believe in what gives me peace. For those preaching the gospel of "There is no God",it's your life and your choice,don't try to criticise or insult those who do.

This question is for anyone who belongs to a denomination that supports praying to Jesus instead of praying to God the Father.
I was always puzzled by why the vast majority of Christians choose to pray to Jesus instead of God the Father. I have studied the New Testament, and it seems to me that Jesus' ministry taught about God our Father in Heaven, the Kingdom of God which is coming on Earth, and how to get there. Jesus taught that he was set apart from the beginning of the world, BY GOD, and he was the Messiah, king of the Jews, and through whom everyone is saved.
Jesus himself says to pray to the Father:
This, then, is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
So why don't Christians simply pray as Jesus taught? Jesus did say that if we pray "in his name" then we will be given what we pray for. But that's not the same as praying To Jesus. Matt 6:9, 1 Pet 1:17, Eph 3:14 all say to pray to the Father.
If Jesus happens to be God, then what is the advantage of praying to Jesus (an english translation of his name), anyway, and not the Father? That is the first part of the question.
And the second part is more serious. If Jesus isn't actually God, then it's idol worship to raise a doctrine of man (such as the ones enshrined by the first seven ecumenical councils) to the level of knowing who is God and who isn't. In order to pray to Jesus instead of God the Father, one has to be absolutely sure the humans living after Jesus got it right. Because this last part involves a possible severe violation of the second commandment, I want to clearly illustrate why I don't think we have reached that standard. (I am not saying there isn't evidence that one can use to support a theory, but that there isn't 100% proof, and therefore it's dangerous.)

I don't give a Bleep about who Jesus is. to me that guy is one broke ass dude or rather one bastard son of a thousand father through him one self claimed alpha and omega called God succeeded in confusing humanity and mankind making some totally confused humans to believe that there is one supreme being up there in the sky protecting humanity whereas humans are the one protecting themselves. and in a situation where they can't protect themselves then they succumb to fate. for example death which is inevitable.
and for those still alive today doesn't mean the grace of God is upon you. you are just lucky today and it doesn't mean you will not die anymoment from now. God protects no one

Its story time, read this to the end!
The area of land marks the boundary between the East and the North Central part of Nigeria is characterized by rolling hills and deep valleys. One of such wide valleys is enclosed on all sides by hills that rise slowly from the valleys bed. And found in this valley is a cluster of houses that look like they are cupped protectively by large hands. The beautiful land of Dufil!
Dufil is a community that is blessed with many good things that nature can give: wide fields of grass in which animal find shelter; clear streams and springs that delight the eyes; rich fertile land which supports plant and animal life; and a cool serene atmosphere that makes the inhabitants look with gratitude towards the almighty creator of all things.
A long time ago, when Dufil was still emerging from its old ways and was about to embrace civilization and modernity fully, there lived in it a happily married couple, Daniel and Marycynthia. They had been married each other out of love and respect. They had been married for a long time but were yet to be blessed with the fruit of the womb. In spite of this lack, they were still happy, and they continued to bless the name of the creator upon whom they waited patiently.
Daniel was a tall man whose dark skin and lean figure were the result of long days in the farm under the harsh sun of the tropic region. Already approaching fifty years, Daniel still stood strong, and the many veins that cascaded down his arms gave the impression of strength and handwork. He seldom smiled, and this usually made people who did not know well mistake him for an unhappy person. But Daniel was really happy and friendly.
His wife, Marycynthia, was a sharp contrast from him: very light skin; less than five feet tall; a rich almost rotund figure; and a bright friendly countenance. Daniel's wife radiated that inner joy and contentment that made her unique and cherished wife, and her husband found no reason to wish for another woman. And despite the pronounced difference between their ages, Marycynthia loved her husband. Their home was not one of the beautiful houses in Dufil, but inspite of its poor appearance, it was always neat and tidy. As a result, their neighbours and children from the surrounding homes found it difficult not to come there in the evening and relax their tired minds and bodies after the day's work. Daniel therefore ensured that the thatch roof of his house did not leak and that the fence of bamboo sticks that enclosed his home was always intact.
