Good move. This will go a long way in checking cars smuggling into the country. We need to generate our money. Benin Republic major income is from import duties from Seaport. over 90% are Nigerians. 8 Likes |

kenonze:The problem still remains corruption. If these import duties will be utilized properly, and not embezzled like they have always been, it would be great. But we all know where these monies will end up. 2 Likes |

Honestly this government is just bullying the masses. Why do people buy from Cotonou? Clearing in Lagos is too too expensive. They should reduce the cost and time and nobody will bother going to Cotonou. When the government tries to milk citizens this way then they have no moral right to tell companies like DSTV to reduce prices. 3 Likes |

I love this. Good move. Car dealers have been ripping us off for years. You give them money for everything, they will use it for personal stuffs and start looking for way to smuggle cars. That is how Oga Joe scattered a friend's car because he was running from customs |

Good move....however, the problem isn't cotonou....the main reason people don't want to pay duty is because of the outrageous amounts! imagine paying as high as 600-700k for a 9year old car! how much come be the car? 5 Likes |

People sef!!! Something needs to be done about this customs high charges. Government doesn't help import your car. Why is it so goddamn expensive. It's the end consumers that would feel it the most. |

And dem go say Adeosun no be brainiac! It's not by noise! So overwhelmed by the realistic analysis that project positive outcomes in terms of revenue generation. Not the likes that where just giving figures that were tantamount to nothing and same time hyping us that we had the largest economy in Africa while forgetting she was telling us about the same time to prepare for the dooms day. |
