Point-system Admission Guideline Method Is Biased And Not Fair-Must be Abolished by Fairsystem: 9:58am On Dec 23, 2016
Until this point system admission method is being abolished, this kind of case might occur from year to year. When hardworking, intelligent and smart applicants might be denied their hard-earned admission into their courses of choice.

Does that mean a candidate that has credits and some distinctions in the O'level exams cannot decide to study medicine or other professional courses, even though they are bright and smart, this method is not just balanced.

The credibility of some O'level results cannot simply be verified, yet someone with 240 and straight A1's might get admitted as compared to 300+ with credits and some distinctions. This is unfair.

Our leaders who brought on this method need to see the devastating effects it has on our smart and intelligent youths seeking admission.
We just need to voice out.

Who tells you that shit is the criteria used.

How many of our senators' ward, govs children or even state Assembly men wards lost their admission because of the point system?

Don't be deceived. MONEY CHANGE HANDS.

Point-system was used by most, if not all federal universities.
Most of these senators and other peolple you mentioned do not have their wards in these federal institutions.
Public university applicants were most affected with this admission guidelines.
Our federal leaders who made this law should reconsider before more havoc is done.
Point-system is biased and not fair.

What system do you expect them to adopt?
Wasn't not in this country most Nigerians were complaining of post utme and their fees?
Suggest anyone apart from post utme

Looking at this critically,
JAMB exams are strictly for admissions,
WAEC and NECO requirements are to have minimum of credits in relevant subjects as the case may be.
Before the era of post utme, only jamb scores were used then to set cut-off marks, I really do not see why they cannot adopt this method again.
I believe the media played a part in this mess, because they mis-interpreted the policy meeting recommendations, which stated clearly that some applicants would not be favoured by the point system and it should not be recommended.
Let everyone get equal chances after scaling through O'level.
