The Muslim publics surveyed generally reject the notion that suicide bombing against civilians can be justified in order to defend Islam from its enemies, but there is considerable support for this kind of violence in some countries. Muslims in Lebanon and Nigeria are the most likely to say suicide bombings can often or sometimes be justified; nearly four-in-ten Lebanese Muslims (39%) and 34% of Nigerian Muslims say that is the case.

In Lebanon, support for suicide bombing is especially pervasive among the Shia population – 46% say this kind of violence in defense of Islam can often or sometimes be justified, compared with 33% of Sunnis. (Findings regarding attitudes toward suicide bombing and Islamic extremism were previously released in “Obama More Popular Abroad Than at Home, Global Image of U.S. Continues to Benefit,” June 17, 2010.)

One-in-five Muslims in Egypt and Jordan offer support for suicide bombing in defense of Islam, as do 15% of Indonesian Muslims. Yet, far more in these three countries say these violent acts are never justified; 46% of Muslims in Egypt and a majority in Jordan (54%) and Indonesia (69%) reject suicide bombings. The notion that these types of attacks against civilians are never justified is even more widespread in Pakistan and Turkey, where 80% and 77%, respectively, share this view.

Informal poll of Saudis in August 2014 shows 92% agree that Islamic State (ISIS) "conforms to the values of Islam and Islamic law."

This cannot be far from the truth, yeah I know and I'm very sure. I've heard and seen some of these liberal Muslims support this act of terrorism all in the guise that Christian do provoke them with their hypocrisy.

Mod. should move this to the front page oooo let the Muslims come and defend it unfortunately they might come here and start twisting stories or start abusing or better still call for the poster's head.

Tomorrow, even Mr Sissy president will, in his taqiyya manner, claim that those who kill in the name of ąllah are not muslims or not true muslims but see them in anonymous settings actually supporting this savage, demonic lifestyle.

I am also sure that because of your negative intents as well you fail to see that it was 47% in 2002 and at 34% in 2010 a steady decline in that view and a negative in the trend whilst the likes of Pakistan Egypt and co are on the increase.

Kindly look at the left most column and do a proper check and analysis. It would suggest a decline and not a growth. Meaning that view may even be less as of date.

Nigeria had a -13% decline 2002 and -9% decline in 2010 whilst all others are between +8% to +2%. If anything is Good news that view is gradually changing and a good development. Thanks to the continued campaign on extremist view. It would suggest ours has worked positively and done alot. Enlightenment is the key.

Let the scholars and government continue to tell people about the scourge and why it should be condemn.
