Why Do Most People Consider B To Be A Bad Grade? by ItuExchange(m): 1:55am On Dec 24, 2016
I spent many years hiring people for large, hi-tech companies. We had a rule of thumb that the best hires were those with B+ to A- GPAs. The A and A+ and 4.o crowd often don’t do as well because they have not learned to work as hard.

This is not to say that there aren’t exceptions, but as a rule we found that a high proportion of the “A” average crowd were too full of themselves to do well in real jobs.

That said, below B starts to create problems because of lack of innate ability, but even there you will find many exceptions.

By the way, due to grade inflation, many people who have A averages today would have had B or B+ averages 50 years ago, so if you believe grades have become inflated, B today often means what C meant 50 years ago, and that’s a matter of some concern.

In the end, it depends on the individual.
