URGENT!!! Humble Appeal To President Buhari On GIS Scheme by FixNaija(m): 4:50pm On Dec 25, 2016 |
I wish to appeal to his excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari to quickly intervene on Graduate Internship scheme. It will be recalled that GIS was birthed in the then Pres. Goodluck Jonathan's administration to train unemployed Graduates just like we now have N'power volunteers. It was initially under Surep but after the scrapping of Surep, the GIS was moved to the Ministry of Finance due to its impact on unemployed graduates. However, this programme has suffered difficulties ranging from delayed payment of stipends to lack of seriousness from the Management. Mr President as we speak right now, GIS interns are yet to receive their August/September stipends. I humbly request that you look into this problem and order the payment of the outstanding stipends as some of us have started establishing little businesses from the stipends paid so far since this was the purpose of the scheme- to make Graduates self-employed after 1year of training. I also wish to crave the indulgence of fellow nairalanders to help speak out for us... #FGpayGISinternsAugust/Septemberstipends 1 Like |
