It Doesn't Take All Of This! by Nobody: 2:41am On Dec 27, 2016 |
Hi, I surely hope I can freely express my opinion in this particular room...without any backlash or banning.. When I joined this site at the beginning of December 2016, I first ventured into the "Religion" section. I had even created a post suggesting that believers of Jesus not be so harsh on a particular guy whom I thought was and may still be searching. But i am so alarmed at the amount of attacks on those who believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God & member of the Trinity. I eventually left & went to 3-4 other rooms where I could have a calm spirit. I have clicked on so many weird posts, however it took my mind off of this particular room. I now see, however, why people who believe in Jesus have to be so defensive in here..because of constant attacks. I don't mean to be rude or unGodly but it sometimes becomes very challenging to show the love of Christ when non-believers constantly refuse to have faith, try Christ & see what He can do in their lives. Non-believers, if u choose NOT to believe, then that's your choice, but why mock, insult, degrade & belittle those that DO? It doesn't take all of that to get your points across....it really doesn't. Question for Atheists, Deists, Muslims, & any other group who don't believe in the deity of Christ: Why so much anger, hostility, mockery, & malice towards those who choose to believe differently from u? |

Wow, lady39 u have shown to be a very mature n intelligent person. Personally im a free thinker and im dating a xtian. Something I neva tot cud work but we r so alike in alot of things so I decided to mk it work. Its not like she is a perfect being but wat I love so much abt her is dt she respects me n trys to understand me something most xtians here dont care abt except dey put forward their' holier than thou' / ' I am perfect n u r not' nature . This attitude pisses me off. Another thing I find disgusting is not being able to discuss without adding bible. It shows dt dey r not logical if dey can depend dir thinking on d most controversial book in d world. People no longer fear religion. I no longer fear hell. Thank you for your time. P.S (ur stones are welcome. ) |

Hi Yomi007k, Thanks for kindly replying. I knew I was taking a huge risk doing this. I'm grateful to the mods & owner that I'm not banned this morning..lol. And no...I won't be throwing stones at u..if i were to throw stones i would have to be careful cause some of the stones may come & hit me. It just disturbs me greatly...because being on this planet called Earth with over 7 billion folks living on it, means that we are gonna have different beliefs on life. Most religions want to convert people to their particular belief.... But it's one thing to sincerely be searching for truth and intelligently ask questions (about things one doesn't understand) and another thing to be deliberately digging for ways (by trying to find scriptures in the Bible that one thinks are contradictory) to mock or disprove believers of Christ purely for the sake of fun... You can't ultimately win by being mean... I don't excuse the behaviors for the believers of Christ who have a hypocritical attitude..that shouldn't be. But I have seen another religion (or non-believers) also act very ugly in here. What U see in here is pure bias towards one religion being shown in this room....and hatred towards the other. Where is the love? |

Yomi007k, That's the answer I need. Respect for each other as human beings. Not all of this vitriol spewed at folks because they believe differently from someone else... One thing I know...is if a person wants to doubt and refuses to believe the tangible proof that is there, (not what isn't there) then there is no amount of reasoning that a person can give. Never ever will all possibilty of doubt be taken away from a person's mind...there must be some measure of faith exercised at some point in a person's journey. One can only get that by praying to the Lord & allowing the Holy Spirit to guide through His word. |

MrMontella: Hi Mr. Montella, I see you have awaken on the wrong side of the bed this morning. No need to be harsh...you have made many wrong assumptions. 1.) I have NO Christian friends on this site. I. don't know anyone here. I have only chatted with "1" person (male) off of this website via e-mail & we didn't even speak about God. 2.) I wasn't told ANY story about being banned for being Christian by anyone. I actually made that assumption MYSELF because of "accidentally" having been banned for no reason when I was commenting about something in the "Family" room two weeks ago. I got it all cleared up though. It was a mistake. 3.) |
Re: It Doesn't Take All Of This! by Nobody: 4:30pm On Dec 27, 2016 |
I'm sorry Mr. Montella but your tone of voice here is proving my words. I did not specifically say "Muslims" only. I said, "Question for Atheists, Deists, Muslims & any other group who doesn't believe in the deity of Christ." I also said that the Christians need to stop being hypocritical also. Again sir, I am commenting on what I've seen since I first joined this site on Dec. 4, 2016 & then stayed for 2 weeks. I, then left the site for a few days & then rejoined on Christmas. I'm commenting on what I saw a few weeks ago & what I'm seeing now. Thanks for the compliment, but I didn't know I was an evangelist. I just know I love my Lord & Saviour and am not ashamed to say it. When I speak my mind, it's not based on who agrees with or "likes" me. I don't live based on "peer pressure". I again ask, "where is the love?" Cause u sir, have not shown it towards your reply to me. MrMontella: |

The issue in the Religious Section is that most of the Posts, from some playing Atheists, are so very unintelligibly fabricated. |

Were they suppose to be nice? were you expecting kindness in return for being a Christian? John 16:33 ► These things I have spoken to you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. 1 Like |

Hi, I was expecting "respect" in return for being a human being regardless of what one believes.. Even atheists know how to be respectful towards another person. I have met many non-believers (muslims included) who were kind & respectful & many professing Christians who were not kind & respectful. I'm speaking about how some of the people in this room behave. Thanks for the scripture quote to remind me though. An2elect2: |

Lady39: Please is it only Christians that are attacked here. Your post is actually self centered , just like american christians who deceive themselves to be persecuted by unbelievers even though they are in the majority. All sides get attacked on this board. Personally for me and other respectful freethinkers, we don't bring or dig up biblical contradictions for fun, we are actually showing you the journey we went through that enabled us break free. Now honestly ask yourself this question, if I am to have a very polite argument with a christian without any insult, how long do you think it will take before I am called a possessed hellbound unbeliever? The fact is you christians are always very alarmed and surprised to see someone who rejects all your claims. I say so because I was once a christian and when I first saw bold internet atheists it felt like seeing extraterrestrials, I didn't believe people could live their lives without fear of hell and thoughts of eternity. It's like the Africans who first saw white men, they believed that they saw ghosts. I notice that religious people think freethinkers are incoherent, lost, possessed people from afar. But when you meet us you find out that we have very strong reasons for disbelieving and the reasons come from your holy books themselves. You talk about us choosing not to have faith or not to try Jesus. Well faith is a never ending cycle, when will the faith be enough to start seeing evidence, assuming I had never been a Christian before and I decide to have faith since faith should bring out miracles, when the faith doesn't work, when will it be enough for me to call it quits? Am asking because I am sure that anytime one decides to drop the faith, he is villified by believers Faith is not a test mechanism for Christians, it is a belt to be worn for life. So when you say just have faith, you are telling a mature adult to believe for life and confirm after he dies. What we ask for is evidence. We freethinkers have dropped faith as a truth seeking mechanism because with faith all things can be true and all things can be false depending on which side you apply your faith. As for me you can check my posts, I don't intentionally mock believers, anytime I do so is usually in retaliation to the smug judgemental attitude. 5 Likes 1 Share |

LiberaDeus: Hi, Wow! U have said a whole lot here and I thank u for replying! I hope that I can address all of your statements. Just an observation though: where is the "Christian room for the Christians only..with Christian moderators"? Is there an atheist, deist, theist, hindu, or indigenous rooms ? I only see the "Muslim" room..which proves to me there is an agenda. Possible idea--maybe if a Christian room was created, there would be less attacks on them in here. There is so much confusion in here, that I have to go the "family" room for decent stories...and the "romance" room for ridiculous stories to calm my nerves... What I would like to do first is check out some of your posts and perhaps respond. Sir or Madam, I hope u know that I am not here to bash u or any other Atheists, Deists, Theists, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Indigenous religions etc., You have a right to believe what u want to believe. But no one has the right to try and force his/her beliefs on anyone. Nor should they mock folks. I don't condone hypocritical behavior from "professing" Christians either...as stated in another one of my posts. Maybe I just have a different view of things since I am that "American Christian" (although I am half-Igbo) that u chose to make a blanket judgement about. I would like to have intelligent conversations without all of the bashings, attacks, ridicule, slander, mockery and anger that occurs in this room..all in the name of "religion." But even with that, if a person chooses to believe after sufficient evidence is presented, then what is left to discuss? Faith is a tremendous portion of believing in the Christian faith..u r correct. Every single doubt u may have will NOT be satisified through evidence, because some things God has not provided evidence for. You must have faith. I am not into arguing about pretty much anything...as I have and continue to mature in this life. As I said though, I'll check out some of your posts. |
Re: It Doesn't Take All Of This! by LiberaDeus: 6:34pm On Dec 28, 2016 |
Lady39: Okay let me respond to your points even though i agree with most. 1. I would personally prefer a christian room and a seperate atheist room. The reason why there is a seperate muslim section is not because Seun has an agenda but because of the nature of nigeria. I doubt you stay here from what you have said, the fact is that muslims are very sensitive to their religion and have a lot of extremists that can go a mile to prove a point. I guess Seun was just trying to give them the peace which they are willing to kill for. There is no bias against christians, if you compare christians and muslims, you will find out that christians have the greater need to proselytize, christians want to convert, salvage etc all unbelievers. Its this behavior that makes christians always want to blend in and convert or argue with atheists but muslims dont care. Christians want to be the super heroes its just that you guys are very startled to find that the damsels you are trying to save are not in distress and do not need your help. I am hopeful that soon there will be a seperate christian section. But even if there is, you guys will still be the ones to start feeling guilty that so many souls are being lost and you have the god given responsibility to save them which will then make you want to evangelize with the holier than thou smug attitude. 2. We have a right to believe anything. I have always abstained from christian threads for a christian audience. You will never see me on a thread like " prayer and fasting this ember months" or " RCCG online fellowship". What would i be doing there? i also believe that many atheists here respect the fact that some believers just want to share their beliefs amongst themselves and they abstain from purely christian threads. But when you have a thread like " why Jesus is the only way" or " end of the world now", the topic alone is assuming so much over everyone thereby inviting everyone. When freethinkers tell you their objections, it will always sound condescending not because we want to be so but because we believe we are free from chains of religion and there is no way a religious person wont infer that as an insult that he/she is daft or in chains. These inferences are not always done on purpose. And is the same when a christian believes that he has been saved from eternal universal damnation by believing what others reject. You also have to understand that there are ongoing personality wars in this thread so you might be caught in the verbal croosfire, this usually happens on many message boards. 3. I know you want to have intelligent conversations but am sorry that might be hard between hardcore theists and freethinkers. Civil conversations cant even occur between christian sects. Best civil discussions you will see might be between deists and atheists. The thing is we use completely different methodologies to arrive at truth. If we were using the same tools then we could have civil intelligent conversations but its as if we are speaking chinese and you guys are speaking arabic. How do you want me to accept that the earth is 6000 years old, the evidence you can provide will come from christian apologetic sites that already demonize and villify freethinkers as agents of the devil, sorry to say but rational evidence doesnt support most of your religious claims. If we try and have an intelligent conversation, we will be stuck at a cross road, i would be urging you from my own side to cross with reason while you will be urging me to cross over with blind faith. I feel the religious position is very condescending because once faith is applied, it creates a bias over some specific beliefs, its like me telling you to communicate only in my language, but when reason is used, we are telling you to use a universal language that everyone can learn and use. 4. Your claim about god not providing evidence for it just supports my earlier points. Why would you still believe the evidence is unclear but you will still jump to the conclusion of the matter that puts your bible stories as absolute truth. We realize that there isnt evidence for everything so we leave the conclusion open and humbly accept ignorance as the finite beings we are in this mighty universe but you religious people see incomplete evidence and still jump to the conclusions you always had at the beginning of your faith. This is similar to rigging an election, you accept a desired outcome, the tests are made and you cant arrive at your desired outcome but you still go ahead and jump and elevate your desired outcome and present it as truth. For me, that is arrogance and ego centrism. |

LiberaDeus: Wow--there's so much I want to say about your first paragraph & many other points in your reply...but I don't want to go there. However, I appreciate your explanation. We will "agree to disagree" about our opposing beliefs. I guess I can't hang with the "big-wigs" in here. It seems like lots of males in here can debate or "argue" for hours. I can't do that. I guess that's where my femininity really shines...as I will quietly retreat and read posts from a distance (unless something causes me to comment). One thing I will say is it must be extremely tough to live in a country where so much political and religious strife exists. I was born and raised in the U.S. so I've been fortunate to worship freely....at least for now...cause great changes will be taking place after January 20, 2017. Thanks for giving me a glimpse into your world. |
