If you change the div to absolute positioning it will stay there.But you should learn basic of css and html trust me you'll easily get frustrated.Arrangement in web design is not easy unless you're using tables.

Which just sucks as tables are meant for simple data presentation in rows and columns.

Only then shall you know why i cherish the word "float".

1) Get "dirty" by viewing your code in "code mode" and making changes that way OR

2) Visit a site with the nav that you like, view source and css, copy what you need, add it to your site as-is, then in between jobs, tinker with the code to see how it will behave under various (code) conditions.
