Some people need to die for Nigeria to work! No.1: The Crude importer/exporter cabal needs to be esterminated No.2. The generator importer cabal needs to die. There may be other cabals, but first these two must go before anything works in that country. They are all there in the govt, they are the one ruling us. A few number of people toiling with the destiny of many! We have watched too long enough. And God will not come down to do this for us, he has done enough by giving us the resources. |

Re: 6,000mw Of Electricity Supply By Dec May Be Unrealistic - Minister Of Power by nex(m): 7:22am On Nov 25, 2009 |
Honestly, I have to mention that electricity supply has improved in some places in Lagos. In Yabatech, there was almost 2 weeks straight electricity, and when it began to malfunction, it was due to the local transformer which was reacting to some short-circuiting from one of the nearby houses. In Magodo GRA / Shangisha area, they stopped rationing and there was such steady electricity that if ever it goes out, they bring it back in about 5 minutes. That just reminds me of Lekki of the 90's. However, getting to Benin City, the electricity situation on University of Benin Ugbowo campus is terrible. after about 4 days on generator, power came from PHCN and lasted for about 20 hours straight, then disappeared, and we haven't seen it ever since. @bayo1 I don't think it is wise for us to spread our net and start exterminating so many people. Let's just unleash mob action on the Minister of Power once it happens that on the 31st of December, Nigeria is still generating even 1 MW below 6,000. Nigerians need to start setting examples and teaching lessons and I am ready be among the lecturers. We keep forgetting that it takes nothing for evil people to assassinate good leaders, I think it is about time the good people of this great nation begin to weed out the bad government officials and office holders so there'll be some kind of balance up there. So am calling on all Nigerians who have an ear, on the 31st December 2009, if there's no 6000 MW, let's go to Abuja and give the Minister of Power the same treatment thieves get in Lagos. |

Hmmm, I think the most important thing is that we've started on the path to success, Hopefully we'll stay on it, & yes, even though electricity is still been rationed in my area, it's actually improved. All we can do is have trust in our leaders, bless our nation & vote in 2011 for change |

We Nigerians would never learn. Fela has said it all. We all need to listen to Fela's "Confusion Break Bone" . We live in a country where you can get away with anything like kidnapping, murder, political robberry and armed robbery etc. Our fathers have failed us. To be honest, THEY HAVE FAILED US. They keep promising and promising while ending up doing nothing. They keep putting out different kinds of vision, some would even go as far as using Awolowo's philosophies in adverts all in the name of clamouring for a political position. When yar'adua told us that there would be a tremendous improvement in the power sector, I happen to be one of those that felt "HERE THEY COME AGAIN". Obasanjo did exactly the same and handed over to the persn he handpicked. He would also do the same. We should all watch out for his speech by the 1st of January. He will end up pleading, We are a wasted generation! I must say. But they can remember to pay the militants 65k because they have t o protect where their loots is situated. That is where their source of money comes from We will still sit till he spends his 8yrs. I pray for all nigerians that the Lord would see us through. |

The Lord God Almighty will help Brazil, He will help Saudi Arabia and he will even help India because they help themselves. But God will never help Nigeria till they stand up and help themselves and that will probably never. So let's raise our glasses and toast to never; the new word to signify the Nigerian nation, people, and progress. |

It's unfortunate we are in a country where anything goes, just imagine with all the money federal government is pumping into the power sector no significant improvement. Brothers, did you look at the recent proposed budget, where about 524 million is earmarked for power plants/fueling in Aso Villa in 2010, which means there is no hope at all for the power sector come next year and that's is why they are making provision for their useless power alternative. May God help us in Nigeria. |

anyway cha i say bravo to them, at least they say they were able to get 3500mw. no roblem let us see what they can even do with 3500 before even thinking about 6000 or 10000. this is because if they can not utilize 3500 then how will they utilize 6000. in fact we should not be surprise that they are not buying this mw because of Nigerians rather it is for them to resell. in my own opinion let us pray that God will grant them a sincere mind to utilize the 3500mw for the main purpose. Nigeria is our home lets pray for her Must you contribute to any post even when you dont have an idea of how things work? |

How is it generator importers' fault? It's like blaming folks who have taken advantage of govt failure to provide power. Do u blame private security outfits for insecurity in the country? Dont come here to spew ignorance. |

I'm presently in Kampala, Uganda. To my surprise, since i got here on the 2nd of this month - November from Nigeria, i've been wondering if they ever take their light. Why is it that I dont usually see those utra nationalist NLers who would e-punch or e-kill you for saying that Nigeria is a failed country whenever an issue like this comes up? |

Somehow, the more the government "claims to"spend on electricity, the less electricity Nigerians see. |

I suggest that we should use this avenue to suggest to government what they should do. In my own opinion, since it it difficult to maintain a complex grid, I suggest that numerous power stations be sited so that they could all sum up to a wattage reasonable enough or comparable to our target: 6000MW |

Re: 6,000mw Of Electricity Supply By Dec May Be Unrealistic - Minister Of Power by OAM4J: 2:15am On Nov 29, 2009 |
^^^ what is your point exactly? Yes obj promised 10,000mw at d end of the completion of NIPPS projects, which Yar'adua was to complete by end 2008, instead of completing the projects he stoped them and encouraged a probe dat took us no where, then he promised 6000mw by dec 2009, which his minister is now saying is unrealistic. Are u still blamming obj for this? |

One can't say that is improvement, how many places in Nigeria gets light back after 5 minutes as other people have said. All i know 6,000MW generation by Dec. is unrealistic, the power supply so far does not justify the billions of Nair as they are spending monthly. |
