In the bible, the mountain has served as an intimate place for meeting the creator. Looking at the life of Moses, he always ascended to the mountain to commune with God, also looking at the lives of other prophets, they have always used the mountain as a point of communication with God as seen in the life of the holy Prophet Elijah.

Finally, Jesus Christ appears to have given his support for this practice of going up to the mountain to pray, most times he took his three favorite friends (Peter, James and John),from the mount of transfiguration to the mount of olives. So in my humble opinion, the mountain in Christianity serves as a meeting point between man and his creator. Your contributions are also needed smiley

The mountain is a secluded area that is devoid of distractions, which is just the right atmosphere to commune with God.

It is being at peace with nature. Unlike life in our common environment where you have no real peace of mind 24/7.

So, it is no surprise that Jesus and the rest of the saints chose such a place to communicate with God.
