To those affacted, my sympathy. However, its not the end of life. One door closes for another to open. God have a purpose for you. To our govt, encourage our youths to be self reliant. Roll out programmes to support this |

Downsizing is not helping the matter, as we all know that unemployment is a serious problem in the country which their is no solution yet, i mean they suppose to reduce or cut salary and reduce overhead cost instead of downsizing they are only complicating the probem of the labour market, at least some of the banks apply the above method and is working for them instead of downsizing. I pray this madness will stop. |

whether it is a rumor or not does not matter. let's consider d families and friends of those who would be affected, d labour market that will b "up-sizied" rather than "down-sized", all above all d socio-economic and psychological tussle it brings. naija, it's time 4 deep sober reflection. hope there will room 4 youth corps member in Zenith bank 2 serve their fathers' land |

The truth as now revealed is that no bank is immuned on the global financial crisis and the Lamido's abrakadabra. Indeed, CBN has brought problems to the Nigerian Banking industry. What good has the so called reforms proferred? Salary cuts, Job losses, unemployement and so on. Folks, year 2010 is going to be a very difficult year for look of things. Banks have stopped employing, graduates tripping into the labour market everyday without hope of getting any job. What good does Lamido have as regards the recession and job losses? Let Lamido make pronouncement on the plan to cushion the effects of his so called policy on the economy. Lamido in a bit to solve problems created more. He sacked MDs for bad loans and brought in new ones to enjoy what they never sowed. Lamido, the mighty are falling all for your so called abrakadabra, wake up man! |

This is not good news! I sure hope all those folks find a way out soon, and that they had a plan B while working in them banks. come to think of it, i think this layoffs should involve more senior staffs as they made the decisions and cutting of their salaries will save the bank a great deal. but hey dont blame Lammy guy ok?he just exposed the fact that most of the banks were a pack of cards and beter now than later, now they can build uo some honest wealth and later continue expansion.or you would rather he left them alone to continue their 'mega bank' delusions? |

I MEAN, I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY PPLE ARE STILL THINKING HE HAS ANY GOOD THING TO DELIVER IN ANAMBRA STATE. WHEN NIGERIA HAD THE CHANCE OF REMEDYING THE ECONOMY LAST YEAR, HE CAME OUT TO SAY NIGERIA IS IMMUNE TO RECESSION. Those bank CEOs are rougues. They are the ones that put thier staff in this mess. I am afraid for the Banking Industry, the day they stop paying thier staff well with the kind of stress they expose them too, fraud will become an everyday affair in the bank. Now that the 'small' guys know what the 'big' guys are doing, without them being assured of job security, 'grab what you can grab' will become the other of the day! |

where were dese middle cadre staff wen management was approving dese facilities for oil and stock merchants who had no ability to repay, dey were not dere and it wasnt even any of dere business.so why are d mgt staff not losing dere jobs?, All dese smack of selfishness and d real n true capitalist spirit. The truth of the matter is dat most of dese bank self styled big boys had "cuts" from all dese facilities, now middle n junior cadre staff like us are being laid off, Am in zenith and honestly am truly demotivated by dis sack stuff. I wasnt affected but we never knew that hitherto all mighty zenith can sack, it means the pics is more gloomy dan we thought, May God help us, |

Jeeez!!!! The sack was just too sudden. Most of the affected staff were caught unawares. It just re-emphasizes the fact that it's good to have a Plan B, Plan C and Plan BC just incase, cos job security is about 40%. And for those who didnt, well, take heart cos it's not the end. |

Weep not if u r affected, losing a bank job may turn out to a blessing in disguise, because bank job is more or less living in bondage. The releive gives you the much needed time to look for a more refreshing job, or better still, to exploit your entrepreneurial skills. |

ples let face the fact now. i told a group of people sometime ago on the issue of CBN taken our treasury cash to rescue the sick banks/unbalance banks that "can they survive to pay our treasury cash back as scheduled"? Now almost one trillion naira in trap. Fellow Nigerian it is time for NATIONAL ASSEMBLY to rescue our economy from total collapse. If banks are downsizing due to economy met down, then we Nigerian should rise up to fixed the salary of political office holder to save our nation. YES. i could remember sometime ago i posted on bankers area that "all glitter are not gold". That banker should diversify their earning incase of firing and now it come to pass. where do they want to get job that will match mr.big and tantalizer lunch? Good day. . |

Sanusi's reform still remains one that can always do more arms that good just as the writer said. Looking at the Thisday news paper of Thursday 3rd DEC, it was written there that CBN(sanusi) wrote the MD of intercontinental bank to reduce salary and lay off some staff. Just as Sanusi(Almighty) will has it, 26 senior staff of that bank according to Thisday paper Friday 4th DEC, were asked to resign. insider information revealed that more list is still being compiled. This is the trend of Sanusi' banking reform. all banks have now choose to be sacking staff either as advised by CBN or for them not to be caught up in the mess. what of increment in the ever growing unemployment figure in Nigeria. Of course the statement is true, I saw the article too. Any unbiased observer will see the criminal incompetency of Sanusi from a mile away. My brother, your prediction will be in line with those of banking and financial experts like Chie Edonien of Eket. Report to moderator Logged realmen Posts: 21 Online Re: Sanusi Incompetent To Manage Cbn « #68 on: Yesterday at 10:50:42 PM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Economy wise, all banks have refused to give out money(loan) for any business or investment of any kind or magnitude or importance. FG and CBN begged, advised and implored banks to start given loans, but they all refused. Banks refused to continue with existing facilities, and ask customers to pay down prematurely. all these are to conform with Sanusi's reform. or better still to play safe. oil importers are not availled facilities to import again as before. foreign banks are asking for cash back up for Letter of Credits from all Nigeria banks now as they trust no bank in Nigeria again. we are believe to be birds of the same feathers. banks are confused to do real business as they dint know what may happen next. all these definitely are affecting economy i pray God help Nigeria NIGERIANS WE NEED PRAYERS SERIOUSLY AT THIS LEVEL OF OUR ECONOMY UNEASE |
