Senator Ben Murray Bruce has called on the Nigerian government to stop treating businessmen in the country as adversaries. Speaking at a plenary session on Wednesday, the Bayelsa senator also spoke against the closure of Abuja airports and the Ban on importation of vehicles through land borders.

In his words;

''The problems in the Aviation sector is not money issues but corruption and undue interference of the government. We need to privatize the entire sector of economy''

He called on President Buhari to sack unqualified office holders in his government, adding that their actions were slowing down the growth of the economy.

Bruce again?

He has done almost everything humanly possible to strangulate business in this country since he wriggled out of his Daurra hole and we are still here... , and long after he must have been packed off to hell, we will still be here, making money! Make no mistake about it, this desert mutant doesnt hate business men per se..., he "hates" them because business in this country is almost being dominated by those obstinate you-know-nah.. He is driven around Abuja and he asks; "who owns that building" and the answer confirms his worst fears. . It is ethnic hate masquerading as a war against corrupt bussinesses. Or how else can you explain a situation where a president who treats businesses with levity allows Dangote his ethnic henchman, one of the most totally corrupt government front-men the opportunity to receive almost 10% of total Forex sold week in week out when there was a supposed government policy restricting such sales to other businesses not favored by the government of the great one? Lets see how the economy will grow with the magic wand of tribal monopolies..

Tell that to Innoson Motors , Choscharis Farms or May be the Aba shoe makers and see what reactions you will get. Separate rogue business people from honest ones and you will see the good in government policies. Business we were told before now adjust to situations as they have forecasted and have buffer in terms of resources, partnerships and spontaneity. People went into businesses because they have somebody in government granting them waivers, direct FG FX, unbided contacts etc and now all those privileges are gone and they are lost because they are not real business people. Infact those complaining were used to muscle the real business men and women out of business. Now no "pady pady" government backing and they can't hustle on their own. My neibour who was commissioner for Finance ensured all parastals of government and ministries bought fuel/ diesel and even vehicles from his personal enterprises. With all his workers in government pay roll. He is no longer commissioner and does not know how to market his products and even identify new markets. Now he is crying fowl of the Buhari govt. The present commissioner is building his own filling stations to sell to government. Thank you Mr Bruce but the real business people know how to manage any situation and still survive.

Stop tarnishing peoples image. It is unfair. Ben Murray has been in business even when Tony Momoh was an ordinary newscaster at NTA. . Dont know if you were born then but Momoh was a former newscaster at NTA , a very good one at that and started his Channels after Babangida distributed the broadcasting tights to some individuals, .. So the accusations can go around.. Murrays silverbird has been organizing pageants many decades now. He has been here before being appointed DG of NTA!!! In-fact , it was his positive antecedents in the entertainment business that earned him that position.

Right on point bruce.... right now they are very skeptical to do business of any kind.. first you meet the dollar issue.
if you manage to scale through, you get to the policy issue, God willing the business you are involved in govt does not wake up tomorrow to reverse it.. then you get to customs who even want to drain the little margin you are optimistic on making.

Then logistic comes in.. they block airports, bad roads and all sorts...

A lot of genuine business men are just observing, thereby the cost of the available ones are skyrocketing because they are few..

The same way a double mouthed person cant be trusted, Policy summersault is bad for any economy that wants to grow.
