You need to get permit...and yes...if you work...there must be tax. How many people selling is regulated... ones who don't have permit be running risks of having their stuff seized... prosecuted... and fined... and the fines are not small.

NYC... busy NYC harbour... last of rush hour ferry traffic. Statue of Liberty centre right on Liberty Island. Lunch time.... my day off from meat... rice and peas... few fried plantains... grilled red pepper... a whole boiled green banana buried beneath the rice... and the ehmmm.... grilled green things... they told me the name in Spanish but didn't grab... but it looked good to my eyes so I let them pile it on.... but once in my mouth... it was denied visa... rejected! Cost..$6.. food is very cheap...in this area. All washed down by the only genuine coconut water on the market...Obrigado... new on the market... already very hard to find.
I learned this guy been doing this for yearssss..... he is like 70+ ... that's his spot at the side of the highway... pedestrians/cyclists aren't allowed out here... he will pose... frozen... doesn't move... if you don't know you will think it's some kind of statue. Drivers usually honk as they pass by to acknowledge...and lots of times he will cause slow down in traffic as drivers slow down to get a etter view.

NYC.... when it gets warm in the hood.... ices. Guys from the nearby Projects hanging out.. safe?.. try snatching someone's purse see what happens!

NYC.....Guess family owned supermarket... in some earlier shots... suddenly shut down...empty green stands usually stacked with greens and vegetables and fruits...all bare...never seen that place closed. Found out..... after yearsssss.... priced out of business... owners suddenly demanding 30K/month. Many places here were priced out of businesses and no new takers. ..almost always... any taker... huge corporation. Lagos... take note.
My favourite supermarket ...situated under an elevated roadway. Looking into Lower Manhattan from elevated roadway. Misty day... upper floors of high rises be like in the clouds... low visibility... worse conditions one day two weeks ago when a pilot tried to land on a high rise heliport. His funeral was like a week ago.

Last Friday was shown a surveillance video of a guy pointing an AK47 at random people.... not a gun even hard core gangsters want to be found with in these parts. ... no report of him firing at anyone. Well he did fire at someone.. missed his target.. and someone whom I knew... paid the price. With AK... that would be like automatic life without parole.

NYC...Brooklyn. View north from Belt Parkway along south end of Brooklyn......high rises 20 miles/32 km and more away Downtown Brooklyn and Manhattan. Marine Park... and yes...home to some on the water! Flatbush Ave... running entire N/S length of Bklyn... view outside Kings Plaza Mall. Inside the Mall... where food and clothing interact!

NYC...hmmm...interesting... Puma and BMW colab. CR7 shorts... really not a hot commodity in these parts... was surprised how it was soooo cheap... 75% less expensive than Levi's. Longest day..June 21... morning of June 22 5:10 a.m.

NYC... Enforcement... 6:45 a.m Police hiding in Gas Station ready to pounce on red light beaters and mainly who turn into the avenue from straight ahead lane instead of the one turning lane.
Maintenance... the subway runs under this avenue... they've inspected the metal grating and found that section need to be replaced... was marked earlier in yellow..now here comes the repair men to cut out the faulty concrete section. Power cutter...need water...water for such and construction is always drawn from the fire hydrants that have an attachment.

NYC....along the way... Manhattan to Brooklyn. Passenger cars only roadway. Queens Bourough Bridge... one step on Roosevelt Island then stretching across to Queens. From Manhattan... can get to R.I by cable car... or mainly by subway. Train crosses over to Queens under the river bed..... verrry deep station. Part of Roosevelt Island in the foreground... fast increasing Queens high rise skyline in the background and to the right. Ehmmm....German machine gave up the ghost along the way...been backing up traffic.

NYC.... fixing/replacing an oldddd water main...lots of equipment and certified skilled workers involved.... backhoe operator... traffic controller... carpenters... jack hammer/concrete cutter operators... various plumbers...and few labourers! See cross section of this ordinary road?..no wonder heavy duty trucks be travelling with no damage done.

NYC...Traffic Controller... on average...$15 - $20/hr... a must at sites where traffic would be interrupted...must be trained... and don't be asking him to bring a spade or move a brick....he's a specialist. Logistics and home improvement jobs... men only? ...Slay Mamas take note. And when the business requires a bigger van....
