We’ll Force Gambia Jammeh To Step Down With Military Force – ECOWAS by matonip(m): 9:09pm On Jan 14, 2017

As crisis escalates in the Gambia nation of West Africa, the entire West African countries are now ready to pull troops together to combat the uprising in the country, should Yahya Jammeh, the nation’s leader continue to remain adamant to step down.

Punch is reporting that the 15 countries in the region are set to seek approval from the United Nations Security Council to deploy troops to help curtail the restiveness in the Gambia.

A UN envoy, Mohammed Ibn Chambas said a delegation of the ECOWAS leaders to Banjul are now prepared to employ force to compel Jammeh hands over power to the president-elect, Adama Barrow.

Chambas was quoted to have said that: “They plan to leave no doubt about the determination of ECOWAS to use all necessary means, including force, to have the will of the Gambian people upheld.
“Should this be deemed necessary, ECOWAS intends to seek the endorsement of the AU Peace and Security Commission and the formal approval of this council to deploy troops to the Gambia”.

The ECOWAS members have called on Jammeh to step down and allow peace reign in the country having ruled the country for 22 years.

This is even as the African Union has said that as from January 19, Jammeh is no more recognized as head of Gambia.
Led by President Muhammadu Buhari, the Nigeria’s president, the delegation landed in Banjul on Friday with Barrow to hold talks with other regional leaders in Mali.

African leaders though; you lost in a free and fair election, why won't you just concede defeat and move on with your life? You can't impose yourself on the people because at the end, the will of the people shall always prevail.

Yeah Adama borrow made some reckless statement about humiliating you and all that, but this shouldn't be your excuse to plunge your nation into war(God forbid).

Yahaya Jemmah, accept the will of your people, respect yourself and step-aside

Am I the only one who thinks Jammeh's main sin is that he did not rig the election very well?

Because as Buhari is leading Ecowas to dethrone Jammeh by force he should remember that the votes of Nigerians do not count since he became President

From Edo to Rivers to Ondo all we see is an APC led government who will do anything to suppress the will of the people and yet Buhari is about to send Nigerian soldiers to go die in defence of democracy in Gambia

This same soldiers who we use to rig elections in Nigeria?

Let's not waste the lives of our dear soldiers for nothing

Another funny empty threat. Apart from Ghana's army, which other west african army has good disciplined troops? Nigerian? grin grin grin grin
If you could not defeat Charles Taylor's rag-tag militia for almost 10 years, it is the Gambian army you will defeat if they choose to fight?

If France had not expelled Gbagbo, Ecowas troops will still be in Ivory Coast killing their civilians in the name of operations to remove Gbagbo.

They should beg Jammeh or they should get ready to die in Gambia while destroying that country for no good reason.
