Its few days before the Obamas vacate the White House which has been their home for 8 years. One former occupant of the white house last week decided to bring back memories of her first meeting with the Obamas girls.

Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Bush eight years ago welcomed Malia and Sasha Obama to a tour of the White House after their father Obama won the 20088 election. Laura Bush, Jenna Hager and Barbara Bush had welcomed Michelle Obama, her mother, Marian Robinson, and her children Malia and Sasha for a tour of the White House. Jenna Bush 35, brought back memories of their tour with the Obamas in their heartfelt letter to the daughters of President Obama as they prepare to leave the White House, Barbara Bush and Jenna Bush Hager recall first meeting Malia and Sasha on the grounds of the new mansion they would soon call home.

This came to light last week during a recent show with TODAY, Jenna shared some of those rarely seen photos of that first meeting.

The memories were recounted in their farewell letter she and her twin sister wrote to the Obama sisters.

“Malia and Sasha, eight years ago on a cold November day, we greeted you on the steps of the White House. We saw both the light and wariness in your eyes as you gazed at your new home,” they wrote.
