President-elect Adama Barrow as been sworn in as The Gambia's president and he has taken the oath of office at his country's embassy in neighbouring Senegal.

2. Protest in support of Buhari rocks Lagos (PHOTOS)

A coalition of Civil society organizations on Thursday, January 19 embarked on a peaceful procession around the streets of Lagos to rally support for the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

3. Meet President Buhari's official pilot, Captain Chinyelu (photos)

Captain Chinyelu Chizoba Ndibuisi is a presidential pilot and he flies the Nigerian Air Force 001 plane.

He has once worked as an Air Peace pilot. The presidential pilot loves relaxing and easing tension by playing his favourite game, tennis. He is currently in the United States with his boss, President Muhammadu Buhari, who is participating in the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

4. Senegalese soldiers enter Gambia to force Jammeh out

The Senegalese troops have reportedly entered The Gambia in protection of the just sworn-in Adama Barrow as the president of the country, the BBC has reported.

The soldiers have also launched strikes against Gambia in a move to force out the sit-tight Yahya Jammeh, who has refused to vacate the presidential seat after 22 years in office.


5. Shekau! The Nigerian man that can Never die

There is no man more wanted dead or alive by Nigerians, than the leader of the Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau.

Shekau who is believed to have been born between 1965 and 1975 in Yobe state, took over as leader of Boko Haram after the founder, Mohammed Yusuf, was paraded and then executed in front of a crowd by Nigerian security forces.

6. Breaking: President Buhari jets out to UK for medical treatment (photos)

Shortly after sending a letter to the Senate requesting for a 10-day leave, President Muhammadu Buhari has left Abuja on a medical visit to the United Kingdom.

The president in a post on his Facebook page said: I'm traveling to the UK today on a short leave, part of my annual vacation. I'll be back at work on February 6.


7. Tension in US as man threatens to kill Donald Trump ahead of inauguration

Dominic Puopolo, 51, is being held without bail in Miami on charges of threatening harm against a public servant.

The 51-year-old man was arrested by Miami Beach police Tuesday for allegedly threatening President-elect Donald Trump online.

Puopolo is a member of a prominent northeast family close to Bill and Hillary Clinton.
