Bro, why not start by searching with schools that offer your prefered course, check there requirement, use top tier school requirement to prep for your GRE exam, so even if you don't meet up u ll fall into another reasonable level. SEND MAILS to graduate coordinator of each schools. Just draft a mail and edit before sending to each school. By the time u search one or two schools you will see that this is interesting to do. I even know US map pass Naija own after thorough searching with different criteria.

slimmy2005: You're basically arguing for the sole purpose of being disagreeable. It makes no sense to apply as an F2. He is on record as the sponsor for his fiancée. If you were the VO, would you grant him an f2 visa? F2 visa means he is coming to the US to stay as a DEPENDENT for a fairly long period of time, meaning he will not be holding any meaningful employment in Nigeria or the US. How do you expect him to demonstrate enough funds to maintain himself? Can you be a sponsor and dependent on the person you claim to be sponsoring at the same time? It is needful that you guys think critically before you make decisions. The Nigerian attitude of just saying anything just so you can feel you are also right is boring. 8 Likes |

TWoods:Don't start with this crass ignorance and don't be that silly not to remember that you are also a Nigerian. F-2 is an option and B1 is an option too. Who told you that if they get married he can't get an F-2 visa because he is her sponsor? All the gra gra wey you dey do end for nairaland 6 Likes |

cindyn: It would be better then for him to get an F-1 visa and just go to go school if he has the funds to support both of you. Working is out of the question apart from few 20-hr unguaranteed on-campus jobs around on F-1. He won't be able to work or study long term on a visit visa or F-2 visa. |

Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by TWoods(m): 10:57pm On Feb 06, 2017 |
cindyn: Think really hard here. If he is your sponsor, who will he claim as sponsor for himself when it's time for him to come over? What would he claim as ties? It is doable, but you both need to think long and hard. The last thing you want is for him to be denied a visa. 3 Likes |

I think we need a banner on this thread conspicuously bearing the warning 'BEWARE OF TWOODS' as you see in some homes. At least for the sake of newbies on this thread, so they don't submit their scalps before they know it. 1 Like |

cindyn: Those two things are impossible for now. His only 2 choices are to immigrate by marriage or be sponsored by an employer. Here is problem... you just indicated that your sole purpose for getting an F1 visa is to immigrate, even though the visa is not a dual purpose visa. Now you've just stated your boyfriend wants to do same... on a thread that is constantly being read by actual US VOs! You folks are hilarious. 6 Likes |

slimmy2005: Immigrating is LEGAL. Stating so openly on a forum where VOs can read and potentially identify you is boneheadedness (especially when you are still on a non-dual purpose visa)... that was my entire point. but of course, your misguided zeal to say something is blinding you. By the way... civilized folks do not use the term "nigga". It may be a term "bad boys" in Nigeria use but its basically a low class term around here. You don't seem to be able to read and comprehend.... you simply retort. Again we've gone down a tangent because obviously your goal here isn't to contribute as much as its to antagonize me. I'm flattered little bro... So of course, i'm expecting your next little rant like clockwork... in 3, 2, 1... 7 Likes |

TWoods:Oh now it is LEGAL little man? Double standard. This is a faceless forum and the only information required here to register on Nairaland is just your email address. There are more than a thousand applicants who visit the embassy on a daily basis ( Lagos and Abuja), how would a VO spot one person? Mind you there several visa officers and not all are on Nairaland. Even as weak as googles PII privacy policy, it still to a large extent protects users identity. 1 Like |

@cindyn this is the wrong place to ask your question cause you'll end up getting confused rather than convinced that's been the tradition of this thread lately direct you questions to the Nonimmigrant questions we're listening section where you get answered by an actual Vo(AbujaNiv) secondly for the fact that anything is discussed here and the actual Vos read it doesn't determine you getting a visa or not the only place you visa can be determined is right there in the embassy where you'll be interviewed based on merit even the vo that have been visiting here has made that clear to you.this is like a reality internet show lol. even Vo's don't disscuss chances of getting visa...but na here person go they talk it will reduce chances abeg 2 Likes |

TWoods: My point is that if she decide to marry the fiance/sponsor then he can apply apply for f2 visa as a spouse not as dependent as you stated. It stated that f2 "may not" be able to work .....in my understand of "may not " means there are circumstances in which is permissible. I think the best a f2 can do is to enrol in a vocational course or take a license exam then he may be lucky to get an offer that comes with H1b Just my opinion 1 Like |

sshola: You are one of the reasons he is being tactless in his responses and the recondite is that he is probably giggling and whining while typing his whatever opinions. The point is that the more you take him serious, the more relevant he feels which ends up invigorating his egregious character. In conclusion, If everyone could just learn to overlook or snub his response for straight one or two weeks regardless and focus on absorbing the vital information from the forum, believe me the twoods saga would fade off because he is not above "taming" 18 Likes 1 Share |
