After 20 years, Gambia will continue with a woman as its Vice President as President Barrow names Fatoumatta Tambajang as his number two. She's regarded as the brain behind the Opposition Coalition which defeated Yahya Jammeh after she had herself served him as minister of health. She recently drew criticism after she was quoted by The Guardian newspaper as saying that Jammeh was holed up in State House and would be tried for his misdeeds. Many believe that statement scared the former strongman to retract his concession leading to a political crisis. President Barrow told me that she was misquoted by the journalist.
