My 5 Experiences As A New Student In Imo State University (IMSU) by AnthonyDgreat: 7:01pm On Feb 01, 2017 |
My name is Anaele Anthony Chukwuebuka, am a newly admitted student in Imo State University (IMSU). Am dropping the below experiences i had as a new student in Imo State University which you may also learn from 1. Coming To School Late Attracts Sitting At The Back/Standing Lol, this is always in every institutions in Nigeria. You would see some students who came late sitting at the back and some standing, the most agitative one is standing while lectures are going on, lol, you would be feeling very unconfortable especially when the lecturer is busy dictating. Sometimes when questions are being asked, you may answer but the lecturer might not be able to hear you very well by which he/she would like you to repeat your answers and all eyes would be on you. 2. You Must Be A Fast Writer It’s very unfortunate that the male students are most of the slow writers. You know as a university student, you have to be very fast and accurate in writing. Lecturers do not write on the board unlike in secondary schools, what the lecturer does is only to teach and dictate, if you are not fast in writing, my brother you are on your own. Lol, i do laugh when when some students shout “Ma/sir what did you say?, please repeat”. Lol, it is mostly seen in the male students. 3. Leave The Previous Lecture Hall And Rush To The Next Lecture Hall As Soon As The Lecturer Is Done Lol, this is very amazing!. If you are not smart enough to move to the nexrt lecture hall, my brother you would be amazed to see that your fellow students have already occupied the seats and there would be no more vacancy until lecture is over. There was one day we were attending lectures @ old law block, everyone was rushing inside to get where to sit on. I rushed to grab a vacant but the girl sitting behind was like “chai, where is that my friend i reserved this space for?” she said “someone is sitting here” and i was like “what is my business? Was anyone sitting here when i came?”. Lol, the girl was like “oboy this guy is very serious ooo” 4. If You Don’t Have Your Departmental Time-table, You Would Miss Your Lecture Hall Lol, this sounds very funny and sometimes very irritating when you lecture hall for a prticular day. Even if you ask some old and new students in campus where your department are having lectures, lol they would only tell you “i don’t know, but just go like this, like that”. The first day i came to school, one guy missed where his course mates were having lectures, lol, the guy was just walking around the campus like mumu. I asked him “guy this one you just dey waka round the campus like person wey lost his spair keys, wetin happen” he told me that he has been looking for where his course mates are having lectures, and i was like “follow us and learn nah since you haven’t seen them”. Lol, and the guy immediately followed us ooo. 5. You Must Buy The Lecturers’ Handouts Lol, the first day we came, what our lecturers told us was that if we don’t buy their textbooks, we would not see our result, and i was like “Jeeessss”. Lol, school is sweet and stressful. SOURCE: www.dailyschoolgist.com.ng/2017/02/5-experiences-new-student-imo-state-university-imsu/ |
