*FATE OF IMO STATE UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITAL ORLU AND HER STUDENTS*

As a 700level medical student of *IMSUTH* am yet to write my 3rd MBBS examination neither do i have hope of graduating in the next 3-4years while other medical schools produce doctors at 6years or 7 at most.
This calamity draws my attention to investigate the cause of the problem, and to my greatest surprise, the college has a long way to go in meeting up to the MDCN standard.
*WHAT IS THE GOVERNMENT DOING ?*
medical studies at this stage of civilization should be seen as part of economic and politics. Using india as a reference point. People travel from all part of the world to India for quality medical care, thereby increasing their overall revenue.
At this point, I call on
1. All principal officers in the state
2. Commissioner for education
3. In-house committee chairman on education
4. The IMO state government
5. Any concerned citizen of this great state to come to our aid.
The just concluded accreditation exercise by MDCN has suggested that the school lose accreditation for the next 2 years adding to the 10 years we are staying already.
The pathology department was suspended from conducting any examination until all requirements are met.
To what use is road, free education, infrastructural development without health, putting into consideration the basic responsibility of the government which is to provide quality health care.
At this point, the only college of medicine in imo state that has been in persistent vegetative state is at the verge of giving out its organs for harvest.
I hereby charge the government of IMO state led by his excellency OWELLE ROCHAS OKOROCHA who has been of help to look into the pressing need of the college and assist restore the basic aim of creating it.

After clanish people from Owerri dragged down Federal Medical Centre Owerri, and bogged down the Specialist Hospital Umuguma, Owerri, they faced Imo state University Teaching Hospital, Orlu.

The Evil people even pressed on Okorocha to relocate IMSUTH to Owerri, where they said the hospital would be "more useful to our people."

Even an eediot knows that wherever a hospital is located, once the owner manages the hospital well, its wards and beds must remain full.

By 2004 to 2007, IMSUTH's beds were all occupied by patients, as the hospital was run well.
The hospital shall bounce back to its old glory.
