I'm asking this question, cos of what is happening presently. Most girls who are graduates tend to forget about their degree once they get married and start having kids. And its like the most important thing to them once they get married, is to start having kids immediately. Some don't even bother using their degree to get a job or do any other thing. Many of them, including the ones with masters end up becoming full time housewives or business women. Thereby having no need of the degree they laboured to acquire in school. So I ask, is it still necessary for girls to further their studies, knowing fully well she might not make use of it in the end, and since getting married seem to be their number one priority?

Just because there are tepid impediments to the attainment of optimal performance in a particular field or sphere of life as a result of certain outdated cultural perceptions of gender roles, doesn't mean that every member of that gender should be prevented from participating in those fields.

Look around you, op. There are highly achieving women who successfully combine child rearing with their careers. And you are making it seem like all women are single mothers or single wives, whatever that is. What about the husbands? Are they just human ATMs?

And its not like every woman wants to get married or wants to have children. Women aren't created just for marriage and as such their lives shouldn't be tailored according to such a fundamentally flawed notion.

Also education is more than just getting a degree. It expands your scope of knowledge and it makes you a more open minded, more responsible, more exposed and more sophisticated person. It also allows you process information more objectively and more logically.
And since you are predicating your argument on child upbringing and home management, you should know that educated mothers raise better children and manage better homes.

Considering the economic situation and unemployment rate in Nigeria presently,most boys end up doing Yahoo,Gigolo,and even robbery to survive.
You will see An MSC. graduate driving danfo,some even pushing barrow inside the market,some just go and learn barbing or tailoring,Personally I know a Bsc. graduate who sells dried fish at our local market here.

My question is,is it necessary or does it even make sense for boys to further their education,since most eventually end up with menial jobs or even dirty jobs like stealing to survive,some can hardly even fend for their kids without their wives help from her business or jobs

Lol, even when these women with Bsc or Phd end up as house wives, their degrees still come into play in grooming their kids and managing homes...check out the children of the elites compared to their uneducated parent's counterpart and the difference is clear.
