Sure but memory's a bit foggy. All details are on the cic website though, that's where I got all the info from. For the invitation letter I did a Google Search and got a pretty good sample I worked with.

1. Letter of invitation from me stating why I wanted her to visit and that hubby will be financially responsible for all her expenses. (you're right I was not in gainful employment back then)
2. Hubby's bank statements as POF
3. Mom's bio page (passport) and mine and I think hubby's.
4. Copy of letter from clinic stating the gestational age of pregnancy (I think)
5. I think there was something about proof of relationship so I included my birth certificate (not so sure of this)
6. I think hubby did a letter of financial responsibility too.

An update:Settling in has been ok, gotten my SIN, awaiting healthcare number, customs gave us tough time in clearing our goods(3days) saying it was much over 400kg (LOL, I brought the whole naija) had to pay demurage . They scattered our bags like rats but luckily nothing was thrown away(my knorr cubes, powder milk escaped).Gotten an apartment with bills inclusive, definitely move in next week, register in a clinic, shop for winter clothes, stock up on meat, tomatoes and pepper. Things here are expensive

I have never been one for helps sha, maybe coz I moved to Naija recently and I no get strength to beg anybody to do anything for me. I have always done Creche and Daycare. Pick the kids on my way back from work, bath everybody and call it a night. So I guess there will be no difference for me when I move hahahaha as per no depression lol. I'll miss my cleaner though. He comes twice a week. That's what I'm worried about when we eventually move. Getting a cleaner. In Yankee, you can get them very easily for $40 per week.
Any way, you'll be fine once you get into a routine. Get the kids into a routine, everybody to bed at 7pm so you can breathe. I was hardcore with my two kids, sleep trained them at 2 months to sleep through the night coz I can't come and die. That what I had time for other things, cooking, etc. In fact if you want me to share my excel sheet routine with you, send me a pm. Hopefully you won't be scared like this woman has her kid on robot mode hahaha

Hi superdoll, I'm no expert but I believe you can. Mostly they understand the need for family when having a baby. You will need to attach supporting documents -death certs (sorry for your loss btw) proof of relationship between you and your sister, proof of your pregnancy, financial capability either from you or your sis etc. The first time my mom visited Canada she was invited by my sister's (she doesnt live in Canada) friend (no relation at all) and she got it although she applied from the US. On the flip side, a friend (PR) in Canada invited both her mom and single working sister to help out with her baby as she was pregnant but only the mom was given. To summarise, in my opinion go for it but arm yourself with every possible relevant document to support your case. All the best!

We currently receive child support, tax refund on climate and consumable goods tax and also, our kids have health insurance (100%) card from the government. This has made life so much easy. Rent here is reasonably affordable, feeding is relatively affordable as well. I have been busy lately with vocational work just for the income which is not steady.

My experience from Nigeria is supply chain management (I specialised in procurement and logistics) within the oil and gas industry. I noticed SCM is a growing career here in Alberta, Calgary to be precise. But I keep applying for vacancies and I am yet to get any tangible response. Though I have done a little research but I need an experienced guide to be on the right track. Seriously, right now I am confused.

Please anyone with honest opinion, experience or knowledge about supply chain management and how I can go about it should reply me. Are there job fairs in calgary(or Alberta at large) that could give me a better exposure? Also, what courses, training or certifications do I need to take to have an edge?

Yes, it can be carried, and it is not classified as meat.
However, you need to declare it, you declare them as grilled/roasted escargots, depending on what mode of cooking used.
For Knorr chicken& indomie chicken, I have carried them before, but declared it. I know the USA usually binge these, but Canada is more crazy about dairy and meat products.

On a different note you guys should pls share job search experiences in the GTA..I was planning on landing in GTA but the cost of living especially rent is scary....I hear that 80% of migrants land in GTA so the number of newly landed job seekers out-numbers the "plenty job opportunities". I also hear the growing asian community have mastered the art of networking and have driven wage levels to the barest minimum because they use lower wages as a bait for employers...so someone in alberta or sask on the same job will probably earn more than you do even though they have a lower minimum wage.

Yeah.. finally I meet someone from the same field as me....although I am not yet in canada, but I have done some preliminary searches.
Have you registered with the SCMA body as an international professional? I have been told that most logistics jobs are easy to get for people in SCM, however, these jobs are mainly warehouse roles for starters, then once you get in, and showcase your expertise, you are assured of upward progression. Also, have you reached out to the new comer service for briding programs and network opportunities? I have talked with ACCESS in Ontario on this but I am not sure of Alberta yet. But an SCM colleague in Winnipeg assured me that if one decides to do the school route, a program in commerce is a solid starting point. SAIT has a diploma in Bus Admin that meets this criteria. Check the ALIS site for more information on logistics prospects and relevant education programs.

Hi TheCongo2! Anything above $2000 is high I think. I've read the cost of houses is not too different from Calgary and in Calgary I can get those specs for less than $2k.
