winter: You can change your address and phone number using the web form, this is what I did in November, because the change address link never worked. Hope this helps. https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx?_ga=2.139417139.185010103.1520552709-1406495142.1516025743 11 Likes 11 Shares |

Please, how do you stop a bus when you are running to the bus stop but not yet there. Can you flag it down? I've missed my connecting bus because Google maps 4 mins walk is faster than my walk. I get there just as the bus is pulling away or not even stopping at all. |

XX01: Hi, unfortunately because of strict SLAs that transit operators have, they wont stop for you once the doors are shut and/or they are in drive procedure to the next scheduled stop, operative word being 'scheduled'. Even if the bus is empty, the driver is obligated to stick to schedule/procedure or risk work demerits points on his record for stopping for you. The exceptions are trafiic incidents which they have to radio in to their base. Some busybody around who is not even on the bus may report him to his transit service for stopping outside schedule so, we learn to always arrive at the bus stop earlier than we need to be and retain some of our old Oshodi Oke bus jogging/hopping skills to catch up 17 Likes |

Good day people, Just to give an update which may be beneficial to anyone on passport expiry less than 6 months before travelling. So my application was approved and i got all our passports and COPRs in January 2018. My passport was due to expire in May 2018. My spouse however, insisted i renew my passport before we travel because we did not know if we would be allowed to travel with less than six moths validity on my passport. I called Lufthansa and they do not seem to have a fulfilling response as they do not understand what an immigrant visa was and that it is better to have a validity above 6 months so as to avoid any hassles. I renewed my passport and wrote an email to Ottawa, Accra and LVO to inform them i would be renewing my visa. My thinking was that the visa would still be valid as with other visas i have experienced. The next day our CIC/Express Entry profile changed from Approved to "We are awaiting a decision....." and all the counterfoil information removed. To my great surprise i received an email from LVO that all previously issued COPRs were cancelled and invalid, and we should send all documents (including all family members) back to Accra and wait for further instructions. We were all worried. We sent all the documents through DHL back to Accra and waited for further instructions. 2 days after i received the email requesting for us to pay $120CAD through the online platform for visa re-issue which i did immediately. Then the sudden silence from LVO starts; and we have 5 more weeks until our validity expires, no update on our account profile and no information from them for about 3 weeks and until today that our application on the profile now shows approved. New counterfoil issued and the old ones shown as invalid. 8 Likes 3 Shares |

I am new here, wish I came across this site sooner, I have an issue and I need advise on the best action to take,I putting my application for PR on the 5th of December 2017, I got my PR through the CEC on the 18th of February 2018 but before that, I went back to Nigeria and I did a court wedding Dec 26, 2017 thinking after application, status change won't matter and I can sponsor my wife (grave mistake)whenever I get my PR. Got PPR request on the 3rd and out of fear of what might happen, I did not declare my status has changed (dumb move) . Now I am thinking of sponsoring my wife to come but I am skeptical cos of the date on the marriage certificate (Dec 26) wont tally with my status as at when I got my PR (Feb 18), so am thinking if its a good idea to go ahead and sponsor her without minding the date or see if she can get in with student visa or if there is another way to change the date at the registry in Nigeria, bottom line is I need advise on whats best for me cos its giving me sleepless nights. I should have declared when I had the chance but that's past now I just need a solution, please help a brother out... |

Blackbuddy: Wow. O boy no be small matter be this. Even if I'm running to the bus stop and the bus didn't stop at the bus stop because no one on the bus requested a stop? Found out that I had to wait 20 to 30 mins for the next bus out in the cold. Today was hellish. Kept arriving just as the bus was pulling out and I was with my toddler. The wind today was something else. 1 Like |

@amindondee, that must have been some BP raising wiat period. I may ne wrong but you could have landed with your old passport. The validity period is intended for the point of submission of your PR app and point of issuing the visa. As long as your passport was valid for travel as at when you intended to land, you would not have had any issues. 1 Like |

XX01:Pele oh. Well, the bus has stopped for me before when the driver saw me approaching after he just exited the stop. I was pregnant at the time so that may be why. |

EglintonWest: Oboy i no go lie you. You have a massive mountain ahead of you. Strictly speaking, your wife is not eligible to be sponsored by you because she isnt going to be considered as a member of the family class. It's Canadian immigration law. If a family member is undeclared, they are forever excluded from the family class except in some very rare H&C cases. You have two choices. 1. Give up your PR and reapply but include her this time. You can put her as non accompanying if it will help your scores 2. Get her to apply for express entry herself. If she can get in as a student it will make it easier. Doctoring your marriage certificate can make an already bad situation completely untenable. 11 Likes |

XX01: It depends on the driver and location also, I have seen several instances where bus drivers wait for people running to catch the bus and instances where some don’t. With google maps, what I do is try to leave home 5 or 10 mins earlier than what the map advise, that way you are at the bus stop at least 5 mins earlier, so you don’t miss the bus even if it’s early. Hope this helps. 3 Likes |

Hi AZed1 I just wanna find out if landing in Quebec is allowed cos i've heard they have their own immigration nomination process. We already booked a flight to land in Toronto but we are actually headed to Montreal, so we'd like to change flights here in Nigeria. would that be a problem? AZeD1: |

rainazoe:when do you intend to land? My advice is to land before passport expiry. Your pr card would bear the name on your copr regardless of a change in passport name. |
