Having read all these its clear that Nigeria does not deserve the Igbo race.
God should have put the Igbo Man in a country that would appreciate and anchor on his intellectual capabilities.
Rubbish!

Tanx. The day the average Nigerian starts to look beyond ethnic and tribal boundaries and sees other Nigerians as brothers and sisters with the same goal of moving the country forward, that's the day we can comfortably say we are on the march towards greatness.

I can actually provide a body ( I mean an enclosed body) with doors and windows with glasses for this tricycle and subsequently upgrade it to a four wheel Bus or Car. This is the time for the Government of ABA to provide the required Platform to launch an Aba made Car. The First Mercedec Benz Car ever invented was not this good at first at leat I saw it in discovery channel some days ago. Governor of Abia state develop a cottage industry site for your people as an avenue to generate massive employment for the creative minds of Ibo people. We can compete with the Chinesse and Koreans only if you can give us a little encouragemnt.
Best regards to every positive thinker.

Remember necessity is the mother of invention thesame Okada was banned in Rivers state what happened the boys went into Kidnapping and Oil Bunkering but in Aba they fought back with innovations, Kudos!!!!!
If our government can ban the importation of tricycle into Nigeria or at least raise the tariff then we can look inwards and develop /appreciate indigenous technology,
Best regards to every positive thinker.

It's shocking to see otherwise educated people steeped so deeply in the corrosive juice of tribalism. The fact that they are probably young people too is worrying because it's a pointer that the dream of a future rancour-free Nigeria is scarcely realisable. This same ethnic bigots would hypocritically hide their true colours on social networking sites like Facebook and make a show of being detribalised by having Nigerians from every cranny on their friends' list. However, under the cover of pseudonymous posts offered here, they manifest the true darkness of their hearts. I weep for Nigeria.
Re: Aba Ingenuity-people’s Creativity Rebuilds Banned Okada In Aba To Tricycles by dozies: 9:12am On Dec 09, 2009
Whether it is tribalism or not, dichotomy or not hatred, God lifted generation will remain lifted forever. ABA, for a long time have their own custom made trucks that can carry goods into the nooks and cranny of their markets because the access road inside the market are too difficult for other vehicles to maneuver. All these people are asking for is enabling infrastructure to explore their creative minds. They need power at affordable price, they need an industrial site for such cotage industry, the market is their already. ABA made shoes are already in export markets for years. Please Governors of Eastern and Commissioners of Commerce, re-establish the Eastern Nigeria small scale industrial sites in all the Urban cities or town within the region that will create massive employment and speedy technological/industrial growth recall most big industries started small and grow to become big. And on a long run the government can generate revenue/funds from these establishments. What are you people doing; for how long will you keep on paying lip services to industrial development; NIDB this ADB that we know that these are merely drain pipes through which you siphon curses to yourselves and family members, It is unfortunate that he who taught himself wise via cheating/stealing will be found foolish at the end of the day!!!!!!! .

I am not Igbo but I really admire the ingenuity of these people. They are really one of the reasons one is proud to be a Nigerian. It is just so sad that we live in a country where such is not supported. Imagine if the government could support this 'industry', our country could be exporting 'tricycles' in less than 3 years to other countries. However, trust our leaders, they will gladly rather import from Ghana than support a potential market in Nigeria.

I have said it here before and I will say it again, our leaders just need to give us constant power and we Nigerians will do the rest! If I was President, I will permit all industries to generate their own electricity and even give tax incentives to those who are self sustaining power wise.

A piece of advice to Nairalanders. Please let us stop being tribalistic. This is the bone our corrup leaders throw at us so that we don't have time to focus on issues like fighting corruption. Meanwhile, they, inspite of their tribe, sit at Abuja and steal our money. Ibori and Yaradua are not from the same tribe yet one is using all his money to support the other while the other is defending 'one' even with his life at risk.
We the masses must learn to reject this bone and work together to build a better country, one our generation and future generations will be proud of.

Great valid post.

guys . . WAIT i thought the issue was the bike modification. i guess if a bike gets a new body then the fabricators can sort out a change of chasis.

neccessity is the mother of invention and am sure as business men you do not expect that an invest should be left to become a liability to the owners thus the modiufication is body of the bike to something which is more acceptable.

my observation is that the new contraption is too high and unstable for commercial transport tation.am aware that you can get an amature flying license in the uk when you build at least 45% of the craft, so pls let drop the slander and work on improving the tricycle.

the centre of gravity is just too high and that must be worked on.

but this is commendable, not minding the likly casaulties which i suspect will be far lower than that of the original bikes anyway!

But what's d rationale behind banning Okada in the first place? Our leaders dont have the inspiration nor even d motivation to provide job for d common man yet are always ready to ban everything he does to make ends meet! WTH! Research has shown that Okada is actually what's keepin a lot of young men from crime,so do our officials have any brain at all?
